I would like to change the message that is displayed when sent as a notification to learners. I checked under notifications, edit notification, email, description but the description field shows as blank. Would anyone have more information? Thank you
This may be happening due to not selecting a language for the notification body.
Could you try to click on the dropdown that says "Select Languages to Assign" and choose the appropriate language....It should hopefully help you see and edit the text in the description field

Fario is correct, if you do not select a language the template will not show. Keep in mind, while this notification has a template, not all notifications have templates to start with.
