Good morning Training Avengers!

Someone asked me this morning and I wasn’t sure why this was the case - Continue Your Learning Activity is an automated Docebo widget for picking up where you left off. If someone is IN PROGRESS when we put it in maintenance mode (we do this for archiving), it still shows in this widget.

Is the only solution to also archive enrollments? We don’t always do this for every single course, it’s time consuming when you  get more than 200 enrollments and have to do it via API.

Not sure I follow what you're asking. It is true that the “Continue...” channel shows what is not started and in progress. Are you trying to archive users that are in progress? What is your end goal?

If we put the course in maintenance mode, learners can’t continue their learning. But it shows in the widget as a locked, in progress course. They can’t engage in a locked course. Is the only way I can hide in maintenance courses from a learner who has started it to archive their progress?

It’s a bad learner experience they can’t move forward because the course is archived, and it will always stay in this widget.

@captainzelda Be glad of APIs… I’ve had to do thousands by hand :-) And I believe the answer to your question is yes, you need to archive/remove the enrollments.

thank you for clarifying. I use the API now, but I don’t archive everything it’s very painful. It seems like an automated widget designed to present training should exclude in maintenance courses...so I was confused.

Is there a reason you do not ask the users to complete the course? Is the content obsolete?

@captainzelda I agree with you.  It’s always bothered me that “Under maintenance” covered everything from ‘hang on a minute I need to upload a new version of a training material’ to ‘this course is done and gone forever’.  Seems to me that there really needs to be some fine tuning of the “Not Published” status.

Outdated, and an external audience for optional. We’ve talked about archiving enrollments and just updating the training material in the course but the admins have found it faster to just replace the course.
