Is it possible to hide a course from the Power User that created it?

When I am in the Power User menu, looking at the courses that a specific PU has access to, only some show up, seemingly whether they created them or not; it seems arbitrary & unpredictable. So I cannot always remove their access to a course that I have archived. Is there not a way to hide a course from a Power User, even if they created it?

I was asked to ‘delete’ courses for a PU, but of course I don’t want to do that. I’m happy archiving them. but if the PU can still see them, it doesn’t do a lot of good.

There should be a way to remove visibility of any course for a Power User. Am I missing something? Anyone know how to approach this?

Thanks!

I figured out a workaround, anyway, but it’s adding extra steps to my process.

I can assign a course to a PU then unassign it.

You can also create an “Archived” catalog and only give yourself access to hide away any courses you need to.

Thanks for your feedback @lrnlab

I actually was doing this initially - I have an Archive Category that Power Users cannot access - but I guess because this user had created the course, it wasn’t hiding from her view.

So I’ve got to set the course to ‘Under Maintenance’, then move it to the category, then remove it from all catalogs & learning plans, then archive all enrollments, then add it to her available courses, then remove it.

Theoretically the upcoming Archive feature will be a better workflow, but as long as it remains irreversible, I’m unlikely to use it. So for now I guess these things are still just a long process w/ a lot of space to for error...
