Hi! I may have missed this, but is there a way to make training material non-mandatory for course completion? Once the user completes the SCORM file, there are some additional PDFs that users can download if they want, but they don’t have to. However, the course isn’t marked as complete until they download the materials. I am having to deal with lots of users who have finished the course, but can’t figure out why it’s not complete. Is there a way around this? Thanks!

Well, there are a couple of ways.

First, make the SCORM package the ‘End Object Marker’ in the settings of that training material. Click on Settings for the training material and click the radio button for it. Then when a user completes that training material, the course is marked complete - making anything else optional.

Second, you can use the File Repository widget and add the pdfs there. No tracking at all here for downloads, so it depends on what your needs are for that.

Good luck!

We do what Jeanette mentioned if the material needs to be reported on. If not, we upload it as an asset, and then add that asset as a link under the course File Repository. This enables that content to be searchable and accessible outside of the course (our courses require enrollment approval to access). It also means if the document might be used in more than 1 place, you don’t have to keep track of where it might be because it’s all connected back to the 1 asset. We put them in channels based on topics so they’re searchable that way as well.

Of course, I think this requires you to have Discover, Coach, and Share.
