Marking attendance for in-person attendees

In my organisation, we do fairly regular events that can be quite large and people can attend both virtually and in-person. The challenge that I’m having is that it can be quite challenging to encourage in-person attendees to bring along their laptop and join the meeting to log their attendance, only to then leave the meeting right away. Attendance numbers are also too high for us to realistically be able to take a list of in-person attendees and then manually mark them as attended after the fact.

A colleague seems to remember seeing something to do with being able to scan a QR code to confirm your attendance, which could be a better solution for us, but I can’t find much reference to it anywhere online.

Has anyone got any experience in dealing with this kinds of issues?

I haven’t found anything like this in my research on Docebo’s Knowledge Base, but I had the same idea of scanning a QR code to track attendance for in-person events. I would really like to see @Docebo offer something like this for in-person learning events. It’s too much work to manually enter attendance after an event has ended. :)

@jack.stevens - I did some further digging and found out that QR codes are available for evaluating an ILT and marking attendance, but that is only if you have the Docebo Learning Impact module. There are more details in this thread: https://community.docebo.com/ideas/qr%2Dcode%2D5461, plus you can check out this article: https://help.docebo.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408352796434-Using-QR-codes-to-access-learning-evaluation-questionnaires-and-mark-attendance.

Yes, there’s two methods to track attendance.

Docebo’s mobile app can track attendance. Users would need to download the app and can scan the code. You can also enable geo-location tracking, to validate that the person is on-site in person, to avoid cheating, if you want to go the extra mile.

Alternatively, if forcing users to download the mobile app is a challenge, you can use one of Docebo’s certified partner’s app , which can track attendance and can be integrated with Docebo. This allows users to scan the QR code and be marked as attended, without being required to download Docebo’s mobile app.
