Power Users Permission to Change Completion Status of Singular Module in a Course

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to configure a Power User so they can change the status of specific training materials (modules) within an e-learning course and reset the module completion status back to 0%.

Currently, the Power User:

  • Has access to the course report
  • Has the Courses / Evaluation permission enabled
  • Is assigned the course as a managed resource
  • Can view learners' module completion statuses
  • Can update learners' overall course enrollment statuses

However, they are unable to reset the completion status of individual modules, while a Superadmin can perform this action successfully.

Are there any additional permissions, resource assignments, or settings required to allow a Power User to reset training material completion statuses?

Any thoughts, ideas, or insights would be most appreciative. 

I've attached a screenshot of the current permissions assigned to the Power User for further context of their capabilities.

Hi ​@kaitlyn.whiteley think you need to grant them course “edit” permissions. You could potentially check if the option to “restrict editing” they should still be able to access the Reports tab. Give it a try

Hi ​@lrnlab , thank you for the feedback. I updated the Power User permissions to Courses > Edit, but that did not provide her with the ability to change the training material status.

She has always been able to view the Reports/User Stats pages; however, when she clicks the status checkmarks, the dropdown menu does not appear, so she is unable to update the completion status of an individual module. I am attaching another screenshot to showcase the status checkmarks that I am referring to.

If you have any additional ideas, I would love to hear them.

Just tested and I think if you add the permission called “Evaluation” (under the course permissions), they should be able to reset or update the object status.
