Power Users Permission to Change Completion Status of Singular Module in a Course

Hi ​@kaitlyn.whiteley think you need to grant them course “edit” permissions. You could potentially check if the option to “restrict editing” they should still be able to access the Reports tab. Give it a try

Hi ​@lrnlab , thank you for the feedback. I updated the Power User permissions to Courses > Edit, but that did not provide her with the ability to change the training material status.

She has always been able to view the Reports/User Stats pages; however, when she clicks the status checkmarks, the dropdown menu does not appear, so she is unable to update the completion status of an individual module. I am attaching another screenshot to showcase the status checkmarks that I am referring to.

If you have any additional ideas, I would love to hear them. 

Just tested and I think if you add the permission called “Evaluation” (under the course permissions), they should be able to reset or update the object status.

​@lrnlab , I am so excited that you were able to find a way to make it work. Unfortunately, the PowerUser I am setting this up for has the Evaluation permission under courses in her assigned profile and is still unable to edit the material status.

Would you be able to share a screenshot of the profile permissions where you were able to get it to work? Maybe if I were to compare it to the screenshot I provided above of the permissions recap, it could help me further investigate where the difference lies.

here’s a snippet...only other spot I can think of would be under the Enrolment permission set. Check to see f your matches what I have here.

Did some further digging and it does confirm that the proper permission is the “evaluation” permission. Did your power user login since you made the change to the profile; sometimes that can be the blocker to seeing the updated permissions applied to their profile.

It looks like the enrollment permissions I have set match your own. 

I believe you are correct, when I did my research, it was the Courses > Evaluation permission that should have granted her access to manipulate the user stats as we intend to happen. 

Yes, the power user has signed out and back into her Docebo account since the change was made to her Courses > Evaluation permissions, I have also logged in as the poweruser myself with no luck in the permission working. 

I think it might be time to put in a support ticket. I’ll come update this thread for anyone else that has the same issue once Support is able to give me answers.

I was able to get the information needed via the AI support that starts off the support channel ticket. 

If you would like for a power user to be able to change the material status of a learner, they will need to have 2 different permissions. 

• Courses > Evaluation, and 
• Reports > Edit
