Thank you to everyone who attended our April 2026 Product Release Series webinar on What’s New in Docebo. If you missed it, you can catch it here on demand.
We got a lot of great questions during the live event. While we answered many on the spot, there were some we couldn’t get to. Below are the ones we couldn’t get to in the session.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| When does multiple Training material upload supports different file types ? (PDF,SCORM,PPT) | We’re releasing multiple-upload support for SCORM training materials in Q2, with support for additional file types (such as PDFs and PPTs) targeted for Q3 and Q4 of this year. |
| Do we have an update when Certifications & Retraining will be rolled out? | We’re currently planning to roll out Certifications & Retraining in Q4, but the exact date isn’t confirmed yet. As soon as timing is finalized, we’ll share it via release notes and upcoming communications. |
| Will there be documentation you can share out? Keen to put some of these updates in front of senior stakeholders, especially on the topic of AI advancements | You can find it posted here in our Products Updates page via our Community site. https://community.docebo.com/product-updates |
| What does MCP mean? | It stands for Model Context Protocol (MCP). It’s a open-source standard that allows AI applications (like Claude or ChatGPT) to securely connect to external data sources, tools, and software systems. Here is a link to our beta KBA on it: https://help.docebo.com/hc/en-us/articles/34309439408530-Using-the-Docebo-MCP-server-beta |
| How can we see the new navigation? | You can enable a preview of the new navigation just for yourself via the banner in the old admin menu. This is already available in sandbox so you can explore the new experience before rolling it out, and the same self-preview option will be available in production starting with the end-of-April release. |
| Will there be user training? I am wokring to develop this by I know this is going to confuse a significant number of both internal and customer users. | Yes. During the opt-in period you can turn on the new navigation in preview mode for yourself and then gradually enable it for admins or all users, and learners will get in-app guidance via the “What’s new” tour in their left-hand menu, which walks them through the changes. Here is a link to the Knowledge Base article: New Learner Menu for Learners |
| What was the LT UK event Scott mentioned? Thank you | Learning Technologies UK |
| Is Harmony looking through written resources only or training modules? Will it look at modules from our 3rd party supplier that is connected to our platform like LinkedIN Learning? | Currently, Harmony can answer questions pulling information from SCORM created with Articulate Rise and Storyline. Following the April release, it will also be able to guide learners in exploring all content available on the platform, including SCORM courses from LinkedIn Learning. The capability is “Harmony for learners: content discovery” |
| How does Companion + Harmony impact MAU? | It follows the same logic as in the platform, if the learner performs a chat or consumes content they will be counted as an MAU of learn. The users will only ever be counted once. |
| Is Companion an upcharge or extension | Companion is free to all Docebo Learn customers, regardless of package or tier. |
| Can it search through SCORM and xAPI files? Will it track learner course completion? | Harmony works inside of companion as it does in the platform. All completions, enrollments and activities are tracked back to the platform. |
| If we don't want learners to access Companion, will it be disabled? | Companion is entirely opt-in for learners:
So if you don’t want learners to access Companion, you simply don’t deploy/enable the extension for them (and/or block it via allow/block lists), and they will not be able to use it. |
| Can you customize the icon of Companion? The Docebo logo may not be familiar to our learners. | You’ll be able to customize the in-page Companion button with your own logo and brand colors so it feels native to your environment. The small browser extension icon in the Chrome toolbar, however, will continue to use the Docebo “d” as it’s controlled by the Chrome Web Store and shared across all customers. |
| Can Harmony read from an xAPI file? | Yes. Starting with the April 29, 2026 release, Harmony can read and use the full content of supported xAPI packages (specifically xAPI courses created with tools like Articulate Rise and Storyline) when generating answers. Existing eligible xAPI content is being reprocessed so it’s included without you needing to re-upload it. |
| What kind of reporting is available about Companion usage? We are being pushed more and more to pull in analytics and metrics - so reporting must be there. | At launch, Companion focuses on delivering in-flow learning, and detailed reporting is limited. Rich analytics—like impressions, sentiment, and content consumption from Learning Spaces that feed into Docebo Learn Data—are on the roadmap and coming soon, so you’ll be able to connect Companion engagement to your broader learning and business metrics over time. |
| If Harmony is answering a content question, is it pulling it from the materials I am viewing, the web, or resources on Docebo? | By default, Harmony answers are grounded in content from your Docebo platform that the user can see (courses, training materials, assets), using transcripts and metadata from supported content types. Admins can optionally allow Harmony to fall back on general AI knowledge when there isn’t a good match in your content, but it does not browse the open web in real time. |
| When you use the Docebo Companion and use Harmony and select something that was shown, does this go against your Docebo Monthly Active user license? | Yes if a user consumed content they will be counted as a Monthly active user, a user will only ever be counted once. So if they are already activated via using learn, they will not be counted twice for using Companion as well. |
| How will Companion know who the user is and what their permissions are? | Companion uses the same authentication and permissions as your Docebo Learn platform. Learners log in with your usual SSO/credentials via a secure popup; Companion then reuses the existing LMS access token and only shows content they’re already allowed to see, respecting all course visibility and role/branch rules from Learn. |
| Will the MCP include the google suite? | Today, our MCP Server connects to MCP-compatible assistants (like ChatGPT, Claude, and Glean). Google Gemini does not yet support MCP—so this limitation is on Google’s side, not Docebo’s. As soon as Google exposes Gemini via MCP (or a similar open standard), our intent is to connect Docebo so you can bring learning data into that experience as well. |
| For the MCP server, can we only have it pull stuff from Docebo, or does it also pull information from the web as well? | Docebo MCP Server doesn't generate answers; it retrieves content from your approved library and passes it to the AI assistant. What Docebo exposes is grounded in the courses, learning plans, and materials your L&D team has published. That said, the AI assistant itself (e.g. Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude) processes and presents that content, and can also access the web to enrich answers based on the configuration you have on the AI assistant. |
| Does Companion just search content in Docebo or could you set it up to look to other places as well? | Companion is designed to work with your Docebo Learn content only. It surfaces courses, training materials, and assets from your Docebo platform in the browser, and can use Harmony to answer questions based on that content—but it does not search or index external systems on its own. |
| We will be able to train Companion? I.e. help it save 'memories' based on specific topics (like M365 Copilot memory) | Not in the same way. Companion doesn’t store personal “memories” or learn from individual user chats today. It stays grounded in your Docebo content and admin-configured Learning Spaces, with recommendations driven by Harmony and platform data rather than per-user memory. Longer term, we’re exploring more personalized behavior, but there is no M365-Copilot–style memory feature available or committed yet. |
| Is MCP making sure that content it used in Copilot remain only accessible to us as a company, not other Copilot users? | Yes. The Docebo MCP Server enforces the same tenant- and user-level permissions you have in Docebo: Copilot can only see and use content your users are allowed to access, and that data is not exposed to other tenants or used to train a shared model. In other words, MCP lets Copilot reach into your Docebo data securely; it does not make your content available to other organizations. |
| Can we opt out of the MCP server? | Yes. |
| Re: MCP - by enabling for learners, how are you protecting the IP of course/LMS materials? Is this a risk? | The Docebo MCP Server never “opens up” your content to the public model. It sits between your LMS and the AI host, enforcing the same tenant and user permissions you already have, and only sending the minimum snippets needed to answer a specific, user-initiated question. Content is not shared across customers, not added to a public training set, and remains governed by your Docebo security and data-processing terms—so IP stays scoped to your organization and your users. |
| Will the MCP connect to the basic version of Copilot or will users need a higher level? | Our MCP Server connects to MCP-capable hosts. Whether that’s available in a given Copilot SKU depends on Microsoft’s licensing and feature rollout, not Docebo. Practically, customers should expect to use enterprise/advanced Copilot plans that support MCP and custom connectors; if a “basic” Copilot tier doesn’t expose MCP, it won’t be able to talk to the Docebo MCP Server. |
| The MCP won’t be an internal tool within the docebo platform? will we need it to be linked to Claude, Chat GPT to work? | The Docebo MCP Server is not a new in-platform UI; it’s an integration layer. It’s designed to plug Docebo into external MCP-compatible assistants (like ChatGPT, Claude, Glean, etc.), so you connect those tools to the MCP Server and they call Docebo for learning data and actions. Inside the Docebo UI, you’ll continue to use Harmony and existing features, while MCP is what lets outside AI assistants “talk” to Docebo securely. |
| Is MCP included in the subscription are will this be an additional service? | MCP is currently in Public Beta and is included within the subscription. Any changes will be communicated upon General Availability. |
| How is the MCP integration different than Harmony Search? Could you ask the same questions of Harmony Search? | Harmony Search is the in-platform AI experience that lets learners and admins ask questions and search over Docebo content directly inside Docebo or Companion, while the MCP Server is an integration layer that lets external AI assistants (like ChatGPT or Claude) securely call Docebo for the same kinds of learning questions and actions; in other words, most of the questions you’d ask are similar, but Harmony is used inside Docebo, and MCP is how you bring that same intelligence into tools outside the LMS. |
| Does that search take into account if courses are not available to you based on group and catalog settings? | Yes it does. You will only see what is visible to you as a learner. |
| Will Harmony tutor function with courses using different learning material types? ex Scorm videos & PDFs | Yes. Harmony Tutor works with all training materials supported by Harmony Search—including SCORM packages (Articulate Rise/Storyline), videos, audio, and document-based content like PDFs—as long as those materials are eligible and have usable transcripts or text for AI processing. |
| Does AI Tutor work with LinkedIn Learning marketplace courses? | Harmony Tutor works with all training materials supported by Harmony. The full list of supported content types is available here. The list of supported materials is constantly expanding. |
| Is Harmony available in mobile view? | Harmony is mobile-responsive in the web app, so learners can use it from a mobile browser. It isn’t available in the native mobile app yet, but the team is actively working on adding this capability. |
| If users engage with Tutor does that count against our AI credits? | No. Harmony Tutor usage does not consume AI credits. It counts toward your Monthly Active Users (MAU), while AI credits are reserved for specific Creator features like AI Virtual Coaching, AI Video Presenter, and AI-assisted lesson generation. |
| From a data privacy stand point - our company has an internal/behind the firewall version of chatGPT. If we connect our docebo with the MCP server. What implications are there for the internal data which is processed with our internal chatGPT? Understand each use case is different but looking to understand from a high level how data communicated through the MCP server from data privacy. | At a high level, the Docebo MCP Server only exposes your Docebo data (courses, enrollments, progress, etc.) to your own internal ChatGPT instance, over a connection you control. It doesn’t start sharing your data with public models or other customers, and Docebo continues to enforce tenant isolation and in-platform permissions. From a privacy perspective, the main considerations sit on your ChatGPT side: how that internal deployment stores logs, applies retention, and governs who can see MCP-powered conversations. In other words, MCP is a secure bridge into your LMS; the way your internal ChatGPT handles and retains the snippets it receives is governed by your own security, privacy, and compliance policies. If you require a thorough security review to use this feature, please submit a support ticket, our team will be happy to assist. |
| Will Docebo still integrate with Glean or just Claude going forward? | MCP is an open standard. Every AI assistant that supports the protocol can be integrated. Currently both Claude and Glean support MCP. |
| For Tutor, is there any reporting capabilities for us to measure engagement of our learners and allow use to measure it's effectiveness for our learners? | Not yet. Harmony Tutor usage isn’t exposed in dedicated reports today, but learner engagement and effectiveness metrics for Tutor are on the roadmap for a future release so you’ll be able to better track how it’s being used and the impact it has. |
| Is MCP able to index training content or just enrollments? If so, can it index SCORM content? | Yes. The Docebo MCP Server can let AI assistants search inside training content, not just enrollments, using the same engine as Harmony Search—including eligible SCORM-based materials that have been processed for Harmony (e.g., SCORM from Rise/Storyline, Go1, OpenSesame). |
| When will these releases be live in production? | April 27-29 |
| Can we disable harmony tutor for certain courses? | Yes. Admins can turn Harmony Tutor on or off for individual courses (and learning plans), so you can exclude specific content like compliance training while keeping it available elsewhere. |
| We have a lot of courses that are basic and we recommend the learner go further into another course that has more details. Would Tutor allow a user to dig into another course that provides additional information about something in the course they are currently in? | At the moment, Tutor is designed to act as an expert on the specific course the user is in. However, we plan to expand it with capabilities that go beyond the course itself. |
| Sounds like an obvious question but admin experience is just for superadmins, not Power Users, correct? Will Power Users still see the gear icon? | Power users will have a similar experience and see their menu under the user menu on the left, just like Admins |
| Are there AI analytics that can be tracked like how many times are people using Harmony search with Docebo per month? | Today, you can track Harmony usage at a MAU level via the Usage Dashboard CSV (users who receive Harmony answers are counted as active). A richer Harmony Search Analytics Dashboard with monthly usage, query trends, and content gap insights is on the roadmap. |
| Is there a limit to the amount of favorites you can have in the Favorites tab? | No limit. |
| For Favorites Tab --> Saw a bunch of feedback in the launch announcement which I completely agree with... is there plans to allow us to re-order our favorites tab? | Yes. We are working on adding the ability to reorganize favorites via drag and drop. |
| Do the favorite choices for admins count for just me as an admin, or would my preferences be favorites for all admins? | Favorites are set at the individual user level. Therefore, if configured by one admin, they will not be shared with other admins. |
| With the merge of harmony search and copilot. Will anything need to be changed for power user access to copilot? Just turned that on in PU profiles. | No changes are required. From a functional and logical standpoint, everything will continue to work as before, according to the existing settings. |
| Is it possible active "New navigation" only for a couple PowerUser Profiles not for all PowerUser? | No. You can’t enable the New navigation for just a couple of specific Power User profiles. The activation levels are: preview for yourself only, all Superadmins, all Superadmins and Power Users, or all users—there’s no per-profile toggle for Power Users today. |
| Is launch pad in the OLD UI? | No. Launch Pad is only available in the new UI. |
| If the course is a third party course that supports multiple language, does that work with the multi language course experience? | Yes. As long as the third-party course is imported and configured in Course management using the multi-language course support (language folders), it will work with the multi-language course experience just like any other e-learning course. |
| Any updates on text-to-speech for Creator? | Yes. An audio-only lesson narrator (text-to-speech without the on-screen avatar) is on the Creator roadmap. This will let you add voice-over narration to lessons directly in Creator. It is planned for Q3 release. |
| For Docebo MCP, can I ask questions as a manager? Meaning, which of my direct reports are past due on training, and for which courses? | Not yet. The initial MCP release is learner-focused; manager-style questions like this are on the roadmap for a future phase. |
| For those of us who are using Gemini (corporate decison not ours) what is the timing to bring that into the MCP program? | Gemini support will follow if and when Google adopts the MCP standard. |
| Appreciate that AI is the biggest experience atm but does Doecebo have it on their roadmap to improve the following: automatic notifications (where it's only some groups or under certain circumstances, i.e. some department managers are notified of an employee not completeing a training while not others departments). Having the ability to do automatic enrollment on some courses and not others? Right now our experience is that Docebo treats many things with enterprise-wide decisions, and I'm curious when / if Doecebo will allow more flexibility? | What's on the Roadmap: Enrollment Rules Engine (ERE) Docebo is building a brand-new Enrollment Rules Engine (ERE) — a centralized configuration tool that replaces the current fragmented approach of automatic groups + enrollment rules with a single, consolidated interface that we hope will address some of the asks here. |
| When are translated titles and descriptions coming to prod? | With the release scheduled on April 29th just with manual translation only for courses. During the summer we will release the extension for Learning Plans and the AI support for the translation. |
| Will the multi language be available at the session level as well? | It’s not part of the current multi language project but it is something we’ll address in the future as future enhancements |
| Any update on when Creator courses may be able to be exported as a SCORM file? | We have already started development on this. Our current ETA is Q2 |
| Can you make a useable calendar for Docebo that has a way that a trainer can put due dates, etc more like blackboard | So much potential, yes! |
| Will be there an Update for the CSS Editor? | While there are no specific updates planned for the CSS Editor itself, Brand Studio is coming later this year (Q4), giving admins a single, intuitive workspace to manage colors, fonts, logos, favicons, and page layouts directly from the UI, with AI-assisted setup and live preview, so anyone can build a polished, on-brand learner experience without writing a line of code. |
| Does this mean that my Sandbox is going away? | No. Sandbox is still integral to how Docebo brings new features to market. |
| Are there plans to have a "gradebook" style page for ILT sessions? | At the moment we don’t have anything specifically planned in this area, even though we are working on several ILT improvements for admins, instructors, and learners. We’ll definitely keep this use case in mind as we continue to evolve the ILT experience. |
| Not mentioned here but what is the best way to track my training since Docebo for SAML - Smart and Standard configuration is changing and links will break after that date (which has changed from | Existing links will continue to work as long as the new SAML configuration has not been activated from the Launch Pad. So there's no immediate disruption until that switch is flipped. For any sessions that already have calendar invites sent out, it would be best to resend the updated event links to learners before the July 22nd activation, so they have the correct URL ready to use. |
| When will the My Team Dashboards be fixed? Right now, Managers can see enrollment and progress data for departed employees (ie inactive users). This defeats the purpose of providing managers an action oriented view. | This is known by Product and we're working on a planned enhancement to address it. |
| how do I access the Docebo MCP Server - public beta? | You can check the public documentation to use it: https://developer.docebo.com/docs/configuring-the-docebo-mcp-server-beta |
| Piggybacking off the "My Team" function, are there plans to limit the assigned manager to invite users via only a specific group or branch? Right now they can see and invite anyone on the platform which is not ideal for external users. | Right now there is no announced roadmap item or setting that limits a manager’s My Team “invite” search to a specific group/branch – the behavior you’re seeing (being able to search anyone on the platform) is expected. The official guidance is to track it via the Community ideas/PDG and the public Product Updates / roadmap area. |
| Can you confirm what your Q3 and Q4 dates are, I they differ to what timeline we use? | Q3 - July, Aug, Sept Q4 - Oct, Nov, Dec |
| Will there be an enhanced integration to Teams that allows for notifications to be sent via teams? | Neither Docebo for Microsoft Teams nor the VILT for Microsoft Teams integration sends notifications directly into Teams chats or channels, and there’s currently no published roadmap or ETA for adding native Teams-delivered notifications. |
| Will there be a point where learners can also favorite pages? Also, a way to categorize learner pages for a more consistent experience to the admin experience? | At this time there is no plan to make the Favorites feature available to learners, as they typically have access to a significantly smaller number of pages compared to admins, as highlighted during the research and discovery phase. That said, we’re absolutely open to collecting feedback on this topic to evaluate a potential future evolution of the feature. |
| I saw someone ask if you could use companion as a manager to find out about overdue training and course completion. Is that possible? | Not in the initial release — Companion is learner-focused for now, so it's not designed for managers to view team-level overdue training or completion data. Managers should continue using the core platform tools for that: the My Team area, Insights dashboards, and existing notifications and digest emails for compliance and overdue tracking. |
| Will Harmony Tutor read content to you? | Not yet — there's no built-in text-to-speech or read-aloud capability in the initial AI Tutor release beyond what your browser or OS accessibility tools provide. That said, the product team is actively working on adding native text-to-speech to Creator (via the upcoming Lesson Narrator feature, targeting Q3), and once that's available, it will also be leveraged by AI Tutor. No confirmed date yet, but it's on the roadmap. |
