Question

setting up a pre, a post and follow up evlaution for learners

We are looking for a solution that enables us to capture a pre-training intake, a post-training evaluation, and a follow-up evaluation after training. The goal is to group and track the results per user, allowing us to measure the actual impact on each individual over time.

While Learning Evaluation supports post-training and follow-up, it does not currently support pre-training surveys, which means we cannot fully cover the desired evaluation flow through learning evaluation.

we’re wondering if other people have a similar requirement and how you have resolved this.

Since the course surveys (not learning evaluations) are anonymous, you might be better off using a test to capture the pre-training data. You can use the same question types (except for likert scales) and you will get user by user reporting you can then consolidate with your LE. If you make the passing grade zero, users will all see that they passed (may be a little odd but as an experience) but you will have the data you need.

thanks Imlab for the feedback. what you propose is an option however this approach will prevent the course from being completed by the user unitl the last test (follow up) has been completed.
Could be use a checkilist approach or does this aslo not support the pre phase we require?

I was only proposing you use a test for the pre-training survey. Once that’s completed, you can use this course’s completions (our any other) to kick off the Learning Evaluation process where you can send out the initial and follow-up surveys. Was thinking more from the data perspective since the Surveys do not track individual responses in reports and tests do. Does that make sense?

Thanks, it does make sence. We have also been thinking about that approach but it does not allow us to compare the imput provided by the learner in the 3 stages as the data from the pre will be in a test where the date from the post and follow up will be in learning evaluation.
This is where the complication occurs. We would like to be able to view responces from the 3 stages in this process in an easy manner.

Unfortunately since Learning Evals only work after a course is completed and there is no “pre-course” option, I think your solution may be to see if you can export the data from a test and the LE to 3rd party tool where you can perform your analysis. Have you looked at Insights where you can build a custom dashboard that could include both the test data and LE data in one dashboard? Not sure if that would help but it may be worth a try.
