I’m trying to figure out if there is a way to use preferred name in notifications. We do have a field for this for all users. I tried euser_preferred_name] and npreferred_name].
I hunted around here for a bit and seems like its not possible but thought I’d check.

It sounds like those preferred name fields are User additional fields, and I don’t think at this time we can pull those user additional fields into notifications. You can on a certificate template, but not on notifications. I wonder if there is an idea floating around for that? If not, that would be a great idea!!
Correct, short codes for notifications are hard-coded to the template and are not interchangeable nor can you use any of the additional fields you created.
