Checking to see if I’m the only one seeing this in case it is connected to the way we create our surveys…

I’m testing out the new Surveys - Individual Answers Report Type (which I’m very excited about, BTW), and the Questions are showing in HTML format (e.g., “<p>Please indicate your level of agreement with… </p>”).   Some of the User Answers are doing the same.

Is this by design? I’m sure I can do a search and replace to get rid of all the HTML tags, but that is not terribly efficient. I’m hoping this is a bug and will be fixed in the near future.

Other than that - LOVE the report option!

Its a known complaint of the report for sure. Theres a few posts about it. Depending on the styles used, you’ll find the find and replace more complex than you think, I’ve helped a few people do some regex’s to replace most, or set this report up as a data source into another file for assessment/review, and in that second file the text is cleaned up once. It is a 2 steps forward, 1 step back kind of thing, definitely great to have the report!

I posed this same question and they said there were no open ideas yet, so I created one here to vote.

Keep upvoting and posting.

1. What specific problem or challenge are you facing?
The Surveys report includes backend HTML or coded text in the Question column, which complicates reporting and usability. I submitted a help ticket for this issue and was informed that this is currently the expected system behavior and suggested I post here. This issue has been raised in the community before but was closed without resolution.

2. What outcome are you expecting?
The Question column should display only the plain-text survey question, without embedded code or system-generated labels. At minimum, there should be an option to exclude this code during export.

3. How will this feature impact your business and/or industry?
Power Users, often department leads or business stakeholders are expected to pull reports independently, but they typically do not have the analytics or data-cleaning expertise to transform this data. As a result, LMS administrators must step in to reformat the report, adding unnecessary overhead. This creates delays, reduces efficiency, and increases labor costs. Clean, user-friendly exports would significantly improve the usability and value of survey data across our organization.

I see your idea was closed with no resolution. I just posted again.
