Hello wise Community,

We are experiencing a training material completion issue. We use SCORM files, and have the final one set as the end object marker. For some users, the training material is showing complete, but the enrollment status is not changing to complete.

We opened a ticket, and they said that we need to add exit buttons to our SCORM files because it’s caused when users don’t close the training material.

My question is, why are the training material and enrollment reports not syncing? Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you,

Cat

@smallc SCORM sends the final completion to Docebo upon a successful close of the course. Unfortunately there’s no workaround for this unless you stop using SCORM and instead use xAPI. The other more frequent issue is that if a learner leaves the SCORM training window open for an extended period of time, the communication between the SCORM and LMS disconnects. So even if the learner successfully completes and closes the package, it will not communicate back to the LMS. If you are using Articulate Rise, the best practice is to include a button at the end with the action to exit the course. I’ve always also enabled the option to show the exit button which shows in the Articulate player.

We’ve found that this issue happens quite regularly.  It is poor user experience and creates a lot of extra work for us especially with mandatory courses, where we often need to manually check and mark them as completed.

In some cases, users genuinely haven’t seen all parts of the module, but more often than not, it appears to be a technical glitch. According to our local IT support, there’s currently no permanent solution.

If anyone knows of a fix or workaround, we’d really appreciate your advice!
