User Experience Evaluation: Do you evaluate how your users engage with your platform?

Hello, crew,

We’re planning a user experience overhaul of our Docebo instances. Nothing is out of bounds: the home page, landing pages, CSS, Catalog structures, etc. etc.

We are starting with some surveys, user testing, and other pieces like that before we get to launching the new experience.

However, we are interested in evaluating what the metrics currently are in our platform so we can benchmark the improvements:

  • How long does a user stay in the platform from log-in to log-out?
  • How many clicks does it take a user to get a course?
  • What’s the average time a learner spends in the platform?
  • How many searches does a user perform on average?

Anyone have experience doing testing like this? I think I can get average time spent by learners, but I’m not sure of the rest of the datapoints. Not necessarily asking for folks to point me to the right report, but looking for any others who’ve successfully performed improvements and benchmarks like this.

We haven’t done this, ourselves, but I wonder if other customers have, and presented their process and findings at Docebo Inspire? It might be worth searching Docebo University for any past presentations from Inspire or the monthly DU webinars, if you haven’t done so already.

If you’re blazing the trail here, and you’re up for it once your efforts have concluded, it could be cool for you to present your approach to other customers. I’d love to hear how you tackled this!
