What is the difference between Subscribed and In Progress in an ILT Course?

I have been building a lot of ILT courses in our platform lately and my colleagues running the sessions are wanting to know the difference and I feel like I am giving very vague answers. So I was wondering if somebody had a good answer to this. Both Subscribed and In Progress show for difference users that area all enrolled in both the course and the session I built.

  • Subscribed = user was enrolled but never touched the course
  • In Progress (for ILT) = user either self-enrolled, or accessed the course after being enrolled

The ‘in progress’ does not necessarily mean they accessed any content you may have added to your ILT course.

It is a strange one cause you can see both statuses on your enrolment page but I you ask the users, they may say they never launched the course.

Hello,

Sorry to jump in 2 years later! Quick question, where can I find the subscribed status within the platform, when I go to edit someone's enrolment within the enrolment tab or event/session it is not there as an option?

Thank you!

That status does not exist as an option for admins. You can use “enrolled”.
