Question

Why Can't I just send an email to everyone?

Just wanted to ask if there was a way to send an email to every one of my users?

It is not triggered by an event only information. For example the recent changes to the platform.

I understand I can do a newsletter but they are not saved so if I send it once to check how it looks I need to redo it which means it could change because of adding pictures. (Unless there is a way to save a newsletter and I will gladly take any instruction on that)

I don’t want it to be internal as I wanted people to know about it before they opened the platform.

Any advice would be gladly taken.

Thank you

Hi. I don’t know of a way to save it - but here are a couple of thoughts.

  1. Always send a copy to yourself for future reference.
  2. But even before that, I save the code (accessed from the <> option shown below) to notepad before sending it to myself (as the test of course)...this way I can go grab it and copy and paste back in if I want to redo it/update it.  It’s not like a traditional email/marketing tool in the sense of saving it, but this has worked for me in the past.
  3. If you do have access to a traditional way of emailing folks (Constant Contact, etc.), you might want to download your entire userbase, grab the emails and then use that tool instead. You can get metrics, resends, etc.

Hope this helps.

I’ve used the newsletter as described by @JeanetteMcVeigh successfully for this and though it may seem to add steps and you must manually save, it’s a good option, if you don’t have a third-party mail manager application.

I’m not sure how many people you’d be emailing, but my experience has been that the system disallows sending more than a set number of email Notifications per hour as it interprets it as spamming or some other error/limitation, so keep that in mind. The platform, in conjunction with the email sender (the From email account), will send a notice back stating that the emails have been paused. This behavior makes tracking the sent email difficult.
