Why is Course Progress lost after completion due date?

We assigned a course to our supervisors. Some of them did not complete the course prior to the due date. When they go back to finish the course, the work already completed is no longer marked as complete. It is a two+ hour course and they already are time-starved.

hard to say without seeing the content but that should not be the case...any native docebo object like a test should be able to save the user’s progress if it’s configured to do that; same for any SCORM packages. If you’ve enabled book marking in your SCORM course, it should hold the progress and allow users to continue where they left. Could it be that some users are clicking “Start Learning Now” instead of  “Continue where you left off”?

That is a good question. I will find out.

We are using one of the courses from the Docebo Content library, one of the HR Compliance courses.

hmm, then pretty sure it’s not an issue with the content. If you cannot pin down whether your users are using the wrong button to continue a course, you should log a ticket with support.

Thank you. Spot check with users has confirmed they are selecting the “continue where you left off” option.

If the course “end date” was last Friday (07/14) … would that have any effect - the issue started this morning (07/17)?

do you mean the ‘course validity period’? is the course locked?

We are very new users. :(

Under Time Options we have Soft Deadline On (default) selected.

Navigation Policy is set to Free Navigation, now. I think we set Validity Period end date to July 14 originally.

Maximum Number of Attempts is NOT checked.

hmm, the validity period would block access for anyone not already started but it shouldn't wipe the progress. suggest you open a ticket and probably best if you can include a video showing the issue you are seeing. Did you confirm that your content is created to allow bookmarking, start/stop, etc. If it’s a SCORM type object, that could also be the issue.

Thanks again and apologies for the delay. We opened a ticket and received some quick help from Dhwani  Shah - unfortunately none of us seem to be able to recreate the problem. After encouraging our users to make sure they use the “exit” button, and allow the course to finish closing before they jump out of their browser or shut down computer … the problems have stopped being reported. @Irnlab thank you again for the assistance
