Creating new Short Codes

To my knowledge, there is not a way to create a new short code.

How are your user records getting populated?

Is there a reason why you couldn’t populate the First Name field in the user record with the preferred name? That is what we do.  We have a Workday integration through Docebo Connect, and while Workday has a field for ‘Legal Name’ they also have a field for ‘Preferred Name’.  That is what we chose to map to First Name.  This means that that is the first name across the system - reports, emails, etc.

As a use case about the impact of using a preferred name instead of legal name:

While it was not in Docebo, but another LMS, we did run into a situation when a person needed a certificate of completion out that LMS, and the certificate was populating with the preferred name - which was expected.  In this case, the person needed to submit the certificate for continuing educaiton credits and it needed to reflect his legal name.  His preferred name was very different to his legal name. I adjusted his name in the platform to reflet the legal name, was able to repush the certificate, and then change his name back.  Sharing this as an exmple of a potential downstream impact to the choice to use preferred name, which might or might not matter in your system use case.

You could previously create “user additional fields”, and those shortcodes were generally available for notifications (although the names weren’t friendly).  Unfortunately I do not see a way to add those in with the new notifications feature..
