End Object Marker - Test Out Assessment

We have a group of courses that have two SCORM files in the training material. One is a full course with an assessment and the other is a test-out assessment only. We want it setup that the learner can attempt the test-out and if they pass it, the course is completed. If they do not pass it, they no longer have access to that training material and they have to complete and pass the full course to get course credit. The way this was setup was that we had both training materials set as an end object marker and the test-out piece was only available to view one time.

This worked for a couple of years, but now we cannot have two training materials set as the end object marker. Have any of you tackled this issue and found a work-around?

hi - why cannot you not have two training materials set as an end marker? Has this recently changed?

That was what we were told in September was that Docebo can no longer have more than one SCORM file set as the End Object Marker. The work around we were given was to create a survey and everyone had to complete the survey to get course credit, but no one completes the survey, so it has just become more of a headache than it is worth.

Hi @shaizlip,

That survey workaround sounds incredibly frustrating, especially when it just creates an administrative bottleneck that learners ignore.

When I've tackled this for organizations running into this exact limitation with multiple SCORM End Object Markers, we typically stop trying to force Docebo to handle the branching natively. Instead, here are the two approaches that I've seen work best for this scenario:

Approach 1: Single SCORM Branching (Recommended) Combine the test-out and the full course into a single SCORM package using your authoring tool (like Articulate Storyline or Captivate). You set the logic inside the file: if the learner passes the pre-test section, the SCORM file immediately sends the completion status to Docebo. If they fail, the module simply routes them to the full course content slides. This completely bypasses Docebo's limitations because you only need a single End Object Marker for the one file.

Approach 2: Course Equivalencies If you absolutely must keep them as two separate SCORM files, split them into two separate courses and use the Course Equivalencies app. You enroll learners in the "Test Out" course. If they pass, they are done. If they fail, you can use an enrollment rule to automatically enroll them into the "Full Course." You set these courses as equivalent, so passing either one satisfies the overarching training requirement.

You can check the documentation on how to set this up here: Configuring course equivalencies

Let me know if you want to dig deeper into either of these paths!

This is honestly surprising. Sorry to hear that this is even a reality. A quick question - what happens when you have two training materials set as an end marker though? Does the current UI even give you feedback?

I am considering this to be a learning moment - so THANK YOU for calling it out.

What @Moshe.Machlav is pointing towards does work.

This seems rather inconsistent with the current instructions:

I came here to say this...it definately conflilcts with their Tip on that page - https://help.docebo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020083540-Managing-training-material-settings-and-prerequisites#:~:text=Tip:
