ILT uses Teams Live Events

📹 April 27 is coming. If you're using VILT for Microsoft Teams Live Events in Docebo - every ILT session configured with that tool will stop working on that date.

Not "stop being created." Stop working. Pre-existing events configured with the Live Event option will no longer function. This is driven by Microsoft's decision to retire Teams Live Events at the platform level.

Docebo's integration follows Microsoft's timeline - and April 27 is the hard cutoff.
What breaks on April 27: The "VILT for Microsoft Teams Live Event" option disappears entirely from the interface. Any ILT event already configured with that tool will no longer generate a working meeting link - learners clicking to join will get nothing. No error message explaining why. Just a broken session. What do you need to do?
First, in your VILT configuration: go to Admin Menu → Apps & Features → VILT for MS Teams. Every account of type "Event" must be edited and changed to type "Meeting."
Second, in Course Management: find every ILT course using "VILT for MS Teams Live Event" as the conference tool and reconfigure it to "VILT for MS Teams Meeting."

There's no bulk update - each course and each session must be updated individually. The part that takes the most time: There's no dashboard view showing all ILT events by conference tool type. You'll need to go course by course. In a large catalog, that's a meaningful time investment - which is exactly why starting now matters. Have you already started the reconfiguration? Any gotchas along the way? 👇 Source: https://help.docebo.com/hc/en-us/articles/ [removed by moderator] -VILT-for-Microsoft-Teams !-->!-->

Thanks for the heads up!

For some reason, we were never able to get the Events session types to work with our accounts when we first moved to using MS Teams - only the Meeting type worked for us.  I am glad I did not put too much time into trying to make it work!  Thankfully, we have not had any true use cases where a Meeting was not sufficient. Â
