Let Power Users see full User Personal summary

We have different courses in different regions, all administered by local Power Users who have restricted permissions for their regions only. This should prevent them from being overloaded with courses they do not need to administer and also to avoid mistakes.

The problem is, customers sometimes change their region or are trained in another country. The regional Power Users cannot see this in the user Personal Summary. Is there a way to make the full personal summary visible to all Power Users without having to assign them administrative rights for all courses?

We have a similar problem.  Some of our Power Users are course “owners” and they have a PU profile that allows them to edit the courses they own and manage enrollments for those courses.  We also want them to be able to report on all of the courses that their users are interacting with, but not give them edit permissions on all of those courses.  We need to be able to assign different resources to the different permissions, as well as allow PUs and managers to view a user’s entire Personal Summary without having to make all courses visible to them when browsing/searching.

You need to enable the ability for power users to see your Additional Fields. If you allow them to View users, they wont need to go to the user personal summary; they will be able to access via the User Management screen.

Turn it ON under Advanced Settings > Users > Apply additional fields visibility based on branch nodes Don't forget to explicitly configure the visibility of your additional fields, in Admin -> Users management

Thanks for the quick answer! Just so I understand your suggested solution better: How would the visibility of additional fields influence the visibility of the courses a customer took?

I was actually talking about the option “Personal Summary” for users via the User Management screen. To give an example: Currently, a PU with administrative rights for the US course folder would not be able to see courses from the Brazil course folder under this page.  Are you referring to a different page?

@Therese apologies...you are correct ,what I posted is a different thing.

to answer your question, you would need to create a separate profile with “view only” access to those courses. If you add them to their current PU permission resources, the same permissions they have to manage the courses they own, will apply to all courses they have access to. This is not easily resolved. You create a shared account with “view only access”, or perhaps create a report and send it out using the scheduling option; this options will allow you bypass their visibility limitations. Sorry no real elegant solution for this at the moment.

@Therese I think there are several similar ideas out there but making this type of change to the PU permissions and how they operate is a big task. I’ve been asking for something similar to yours for years now

I did not find an idea concerning this, especially not as it seems like a lot of ideas were just closed with Docebo changing the whole community/idea set-up. Hopefully this will be adressed somehow in the future.

So odd...I know I made a post about power user permissions needing updates but I cannot find anywhere...in fact I cannot find any posts on the subject. Very bizarre.
