Question

MULTIPLE Course Equivalencies

Does anyone have a solution or work around for this equivalencies scenario?

We need to add a new course (A) that covers the topics of two (2) old courses (B&C) which will be ‘archived’ once the new courses is loaded.

Therefore, we want to set up a rule to say that if a user has completed the two old courses (B&C) they will automatically be marked as complete for new course A.

However, if they have not yet completed courses B and/or C, they will need to complete course A.

In other words, Course A is marked as complete only when BOTH Course B and Course C have been complete.

Hi @Katie Cassidy,

I’m facing the same issue as you. A colleague reached out to me with exactly the same request, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be possible—at least I haven’t found a solution or workaround so far.

You can upvote the feature request below, I’ve upvoted it as well:

Good morning from the US East Coast. Assuming you took a read to this one article?

https://help.docebo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020127479-Configuring-course-equivalencies

It sounds like you can pull off the one direction of the equivalency - but not the other? Can you describe one level deeper where this is getting gummed up?

This is an interesting one that you maybe able to address with some gaming of training materials in other course containers or learning plans acting as a type of administrative container.

I did something similar but not sure it will work for you. If you create a group that gathers users who complete both B & C and use it to only assign course A, leaving course A off your user’s learning plans, then when the user completes both B & C, that have equivalencies assigned to mark course A as completed, course A would only appear on their plans if they complete both B & C and should appear as already completed. You would just need to decide when B & C are to be archived and when you start assigning course A only.
