A quick question - Do you have an integration and are using something like the automation app?

If you do - you can probably do something clever to flag the person as a people leader with your HR feed.

There is typically a column that is used to assign the employee to the supervisor. If you parse down that for duplicates, you have your people leader definition IF they are considered to be supervisors only.

If you are identifying people manager’s based on a “user additional field”, then you should be able to select them from there.

​@dklinger We have an API that comes from our HR system. The flag that is for people leader is included and populated for all of those people.

​@matt.faix - so lets start with I hear you. In the past with the automation app, you could map a person as a supervisor and not do anything else with said field. We always chose to import it and a few key others as additional fields to understand who “they” (people leaders) are.

​Ed’s (@elamast ) point is what I was leaning towards - using an additional user field to flag those folks as people leaders.

It just happens to be that when you are doing your mapping, you need to use the username to map a person to the employee (as the people  leader). So the data is there. If it can get into an additional user field, that would be great.

Last note - we would identify these folks a few ways - leader levels, if they supervise people, etc. and make sure that it was part of the data in their profile in Docebo.

So that we could mine and calculate out those leader types.

​@dklinger I might be misunderstanding (sorry still new to all of this).

We have the toggle in our user profiles that is part of the Docebo user fields (See pic). This is what I’m trying to find when building the group, but it’s not an option anywhere. Are you saying to create an Additional User Field that mirrors this one? and populate the other field when we import? 

Right - so to be fair - you cant do too much with that. You are looking for a system related condition that you cant really tap into as the condition is not one that is available.

You may be able to do a type of “round trip” to get there (do a small scheduled report out with the automation app and then in turn process that report with the automation app for some really basic logic), but at its core you want:

an additional user field = “people leader” with a value of “Y” and it to be populated.  

Ahh ok, got it. I’ve never used the automation app, hence the confusion. That makes sense though. I’ll see if we can set something up like that. Appreciate the help.

have you heard any whisperings of groups by manager attributes? It’s a basic Docebo field and I’d really rather no sacrifice an additional field to this data since we’re already capturing it :/
