Problems with users with dual roles: students and power users

If a user has dual roles: student (and as such can view courses in a catalog) and a power user (and as such can manage courses in a specified catalog), Docebo has a bug.

The bug is that, if they are both a student in a catalog and an power user, even if you don't assign that catalog to them, they automatically become its manager.

The only solution I can think of is to remove the groups to which power users belong and manage them only through Branches.

But this is a bug. Is there a plan to fix it?

Thank you.

When you say they “become their manager” are you saying that the PU can view and edit themselves? That would be true is you have assigned these permissions to the user. Can you explain what you think is the bug? If the PU is in the same branch where their profile resides and is granted permission to view/edit users, they can see their own profile since it resides in the branch they have access to; this is normal. Or are you saying that the same person has 2 profiles; 1 user and the other PU?

I understand “manager” to mean “Catalog manager”, @lrnlab, not user manager.

Anyway, @72989513W, I’d say this is something you should be discussing with Docebo Support rather than the Community.

For my part, I cannot reproduce the behavior that you’re describing, at least not without more detail as to in what circumstances this happens.

I assigned my own test Power User to a catalog as a learner in our Sandbox, but that did not allow me to do anything to that catalog. The only catalog I saw under the Catalog management, as a Power User, was a different one that had been assigned to me as a resource.
