Widget/Page Visability

Hello everyone! We are looking to see if the is a way to segment a widget or a page to only be visible to certain users. Initially we thought that you could only set visibility at the menu level, but curious if anyone has set visibility at the widget level or page level.

We would like to create a custom page for only our engineering department to see. Ideally, they would only see the link either if it’s by an option in the menu (we do not want to create a menu per department… that would be too much to manage) or option via a widget that would only show to these users on the home page.

Please let me know if you have suggestions of how.

You coud potentially use a hidden menu to assign the page only to a specific group of users but that would limit the use ion that option to only that group. You would need to create a custom content widget to house the link to that page. Note: if you opened the menu to all and only assigned the hidden menu to 1 group, those clicking on the widget containing the link the hidden page would get a 403 error.

The other option would be to duplicate your menu, add the custom page and only assign it to your engineering group.

@scheba10 Hello.  Another approach would be to set your visibility by catalogs. If you assign user/groups/branches to your catalogs, then add all catalogs to your page, the users will see only the catalogs that they have permissions for.

This approach works best if you do it globally, in other words not just for engineers.
