Hi everyone,

We've heard a lot of great questions from you over the past few weeks, thank you for testing so thoroughly and sharing your feedback! To help everyone find answers quickly, we've compiled the most common ones into one place.

Question Answer
Is the feature we're seeing now complete and officially in production?

Not yet. It's currently available in test mode via the Launchpad and still under active development. You may occasionally notice some instability or areas not yet fully covered; this is expected during a Public Beta and part of the process.

Can we expect any additional functionality before or at GA (October 28)?

The core feature set you see today is complete; no new core capabilities will be added before GA. What's coming between now and October 28th are extensions to other platform areas that round out the end-to-end workflow:

  • Mobile support
  • Certification-specific notifications
  • Global Search integration for new certifications
  • My Team visibility for managers
  • Additional reporting and analytics

These complete the existing framework rather than introduce new functionality.

What developments can we expect after the beta?

This beta exists to shape what we build next. Structured feedback collection runs through September 29th (a few extra days past the beta's September 25th close, to capture any final input). After that, we'll analyze everything received and identify the most requested improvements across the customer base. Your feedback directly shapes the 2027 roadmap, so please keep it coming, we'll also be publishing dedicated surveys in the coming weeks for more structured input.

What happens when the feedback period closes on September 29th? Nothing changes on your end. You can still activate or deactivate the feature via Launchpad anytime, and any work you've done on new certifications is preserved. The only change is on our side: we'll close the structured feedback channels here in the Community to focus on analysis and defining the 2027 plan.
What's the difference between Public Beta and General Availability? Right now, some areas are still being completed, with a level of instability that's normal for beta. At GA (October 28), the feature becomes a standard part of your platform rather than an opt-in Launchpad toggle. You'll be free to create new certifications or not, there's no obligation to change anything, and your existing legacy certifications and historical data remain completely unaffected.
How will migration from legacy certifications be handled? In early 2027, well ahead of the legacy feature's shutdown, we'll provide a dedicated migration tool to move from the old model to the new one quickly and autonomously, designed to minimise effort on your end. More details will come with the GA.
Are the new Certification & Retraining APIs already available? Yes, they're already exposed in your API browser. We're preparing a usage guide covering the key changes, aiming to publish by end of August. Have questions about the APIs in the meantime? Open a support ticket. Full documentation will be on our standard documentation portals at GA.
Will the new model support mobile? Yes, starting at GA.
Can Power Users manage certifications, or is this Super Admin only? Grant them Learning Plan permissions on their Power User profile, and assign the relevant Learning Plans to them as a resource.
Can external training courses be linked to certifications in the new model? Not at GA, but shortly after, with the goal of making it available before the legacy feature shuts down.

This FAQ will be updated as the beta progresses, and will stay pinned in the group for easy reference. Keep the questions coming!

Thank you so much for this post! We’re in the process of testing these new features, and so far, we really like them.

I wanted to ask about Learn Data. Our company has many custom reports and dashboards built for the Legacy Certification app.

  1. Do we simply need to start using the Learning Plans tables? (active and archived enrollments)
  2. Is there a way to identify a Learning Plan vs. Certification in Snowflake?

Thanks,
Ziv
