Hi,
Currently, we use present Legacy Certifications as a workaround to allow users to renew individual course certificates without requiring the course to be part of a larger certification program.
For example, we associate each individual course with its own Legacy Certification. When a user completes the course, the Renew option is available directly within the course player, allowing the user to easily retake the course and renew the certificate whenever needed.
While testing the new Certifications and Retraining app, we noticed that the new functionality appears to be designed more around grouping multiple courses together, similar to a Learning Plan. We did not see a way to provide the same individual course-level renewal experience. In particular, the Renew option does not appear directly within the individual course player, and the certification appears to be treated as a separate item alongside other courses.
Our primary question is:
What is the recommended way in the new Docebo functionality to allow users to renew an individual course certificate without requiring the course to be part of a larger certification program or collection of courses?
This is an important use case for us because we have many courses where users need to periodically renew their certificate, but those courses do not necessarily belong to a larger certification program.
If the new Certifications and Retraining functionality does not currently support this use case, are there plans to add this capability? Alternatively, should we continue using Legacy Certifications for this purpose, and will Legacy Certifications remain available and supported long term?
Thank you for your guidance.
