We are thrilled to share some exciting updates about how we'll be keeping you informed about our products and services moving forward!

At Inspire last year, we shared our product investment strategy and direction. Starting now, we'll be providing high-level updates twice a yearβ€”once at Inspire and another around the halfway mark. So, without further ado, here’s our latest update β¬‡

In this video, we showcase our investment strategy for learning management and delivery, content authoring and sourcing, integrations and learning intelligence. This update provides clarity on our strategic product direction, allowing you to align your business and learning goals with our initiatives.

We hope you are as excited as we are about our product direction.

But wait…there’s more! πŸ™‚

Introducing our NEW Feature Roadmap

We are very excited to announce our brand-new Feature Roadmap! This dynamic tool is designed with you in mind, ensuring you have the most up-to-date information at your fingertips.

  • Real-Time Updates: Say goodbye to outdated information. Our roadmap now provides real-time updates on new and upcoming features.
  • Detailed Status Information: Get clear insights into the development stages of each feature and when you can expect new releases.
  • Feedback Opportunity: Your input is crucial! Engage directly with our product team through the roadmap to share your thoughts and suggestions.

The new Feature Roadmap gives you an all-access pass to see everything we’re working on and your interaction will help us shape the future of the product.

And be sure to attend our upcoming July 2024 Release Readiness webinar where we’ll provide a quick demo of how to use the new Feature Roadmap.

Please note, the Feature Roadmap includes features that are typically the ones with the most impact on UI and key processes. There are a variety of other smaller features, including API changes, and low-impact updates that can now be found in our Product Updates Knowledge base article.

How will this Feature Roadmap impact the existing Ideas portal?

Great question! In association with the launch of the new Feature Roadmap, we’re taking the opportunity to optimize our Ideas portal (thanks for all of your feedback!). Therefore, as of July 17, we will be closing the Ideas portal for the duration of the summer. Throughout this time, we will be working hard to enhance the ideas experience in the community. Stay tuned!

We can’t wait to start collecting your feedback in our Feature Roadmap as well as when we reopen our updated Ideas portal. If you have any feedback for us in the meantime, please leave a reply below.

And, as always, thank you so much for being an integral part of our community!

Did this post help you find an answer to your question?

This is a great improvement. My thanks for creating the roadmap portal, it feels good to finally have some visibility over what’s planned mid term πŸ‘

It’s great to have clarity and honesty on the product direction! Thanks for sharing :)

I’m loving the look of the new Feature Roadmap!

Makes it much easier to check each step of the development and see what is due to be released and when.

Hi @kirsten.bailey. This is a great stride in the right direction.

That said - I am (for one) a believer of software delivery paradigms such as collecting details from a β€œVoice of the Customer” (VOC) in one format or another and to have the VOC influence the implementing ideas that support the quality of life with a product - especially as we continue to adopt the product into our individual workflows.

How do we get those ideas to the product team? It currently looks like we get a chance to express the improvements impact, but we do not get a chance to having an idea heard.

I’m excited by this roadmap and having more insight and clarity into your development process! However, I’d like to ensure that when you reopen the Ideas portal, all current Ideas aren’t lost and we have to start over. I have MANY Ideas posted, quite a few with significant votes and I would be very frustrated to come back and find those have been wiped out, which is what happened the last time the portal was moved/updated.

@JEntis - I have heard through the grapevine that there is going to be parsing done to move what are considered to be actionable ideas into the site. The hard work has begun! I (like you) have dropped many of an idea,,,,and the ideas that β€œhave some meat to them” will get migrated to the β€œunder consideration” portion of the site.

I have no idea what the thresholds are or what the criteria will be to get stuff to the under consideration portion of the productboard - but sharing is caring in the community 😁

Thank you all for your feedback!

@dklinger @JEntis - The Feature Roadmap is our first foundational step to provide transparency on what we're working on and to get feedback from you (our customers) on those choices. Next, we’re excited to revamp the Ideas portal for new suggestions, complete with a new framework, guidelines, and expectations for both us and our customers.

We’ll be closing the portal for the summer starting July 17th to make these improvements, and it will return around Inspire. During this time, we’ll be triaging the current ideas, checking which ones have been used for current or upcoming features, and considering others for future roadmap developments. While not all ideas can be part of the roadmap, rest assured that every suggestion will be reviewed.

With these new resources in place alongside our other Voice of the Customer programs, we’re confident this will give a comprehensive picture of our customer voice and strengthen our partnership.

Stay tuned for updates in the coming months. Again, thanks for your valuable input – it’s essential to our community and the continuous improvement of our products. πŸ’™

Hello @kirsten.bailey thank you very much for the clarification. My last question is, while the Ideas Portal will be closed for Improvements, we will be still able to submit ideas?, or the button β€œCREATE AN IDEA” will be temporarily removed? If it will not be possible to Submit Ideas thru the portal there will be an alternative solution? or we need to wait until re-open to submit ideas? Thank you πŸ˜€

Thank you all for these excellent questions and for the answers @kirsten.bailey has provided. We want to be sure that everything is clear about what you can expect during the temporary closure of the Ideas portal, therefore, please refer to the below post for more details and, if you have any further questions on the closure, please add your replies there ⬇⬇⬇. Thank you!

Love the Roadmap portal!  Some initial feedback from our team, compiled as follows… Thanks!

  • Overall the look is nice and clean …
  •  Especially appreciate the look & feel of the details pop-up - great font & white space usage
  • Would like to see dates up front for 'recently released' cards and 'ready to be released' cards
  • Love having the search - would like to be able to filter the results and again be able to see dates and/or filter by dates
  • The blue labels are teeny and the colors are a bit difficult .. also, it doesn't appear that the labels are searchable ... i.e., if I search β€œSoftware Development Kit”, I get no results ... but it’s published here on the Roadmap; you can't necessarily search by the feature category
  • Curious if there is an option to search release features prior to the last deployment
  • Also we were expecting β€˜confidence levels’ to indicate the likelihood of a feature meeting its expected release date
