We are trying to publish new courses, and keep getting the “Failed to update the course” message. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? This is only happening with eLearning course types, not ILT’s.

I tried contacted the Help Desk but they are unavailable until Sunday?

What region are you in? A sector of our agency will be merging their instance of Docebo with ours, and they are trying to update a course code and it’s giving them the same issue. I’ve tried duplicating an eLearning and changing the course code, but didn’t receive the same message. I also tried creating a new eLearning from scratch and updating a course code of an existing eLearning and have not received the same message. We are in the US (Virginia) Region.

I have received this message on a few of the courses I have tried to update but not all. I’m in the US (N Virginia) Region.

I’m in PA, so probably the North VA region as well?

Yes, we’re getting this error for 3 courses that we’re trying to edit. A ticket was created for Docebo, and were waiting for a response.

The user that reported the issue in the agency that is migrating over said it’s just one eLearning course, but not the one they tried to edit after that! Our best recommendation for them was to duplicate the course, and if that still doesn’t work, she documented all of the course properties and they’ll just recreate it once they’re fully migrated with us. Today is the last day their instance is active and the help desk is unavailable.

Posting here to help other customers -
Docebo Support confirmed it’s a bug, and there’s a fix scheduled for May 21, 2025.
As a workaround, Power Users/Superadmins need to remove special symbols or emojis from the course description before saving changes.

Life saver, Thank you! I was going nuts trying to figure this out, and that did the trick, much appreciated!
