Every time the automatic group's membership rules are modified, or user data relevant to those rules is updated, the group population is recalculated to ensure that the users included in the group match the updated conditions. While this recalculation happens in the background and is designed to be efficient, it may take longer than expected under certain conditions.
What to expect
Group membership updates typically complete within 0 to 15 minutes under normal conditions. However, several factors can influence the processing time, including:
- The number of users involved
- The complexity of eligibility conditions
- The number of groups and branches affected
- Any automatic enrollment rules applied
- Overall system activity at the time
What if it takes longer?
While most recalculations complete quickly, occasional slowdowns can occur. If the process takes longer than usual, please be assured that our internal SRE team is automatically notified and will investigate.
In cases of significant delays, updates will be posted on the Docebo status page to keep you informed.
When to open a support ticket
If the group recalculations have not been completed within 12 hours, this may indicate an issue that requires further investigation. In such cases, we recommend opening a support ticket.
Why are we sharing this?
We understand that group recalculations are a critical workflow, and delays may cause concern.
We want to proactively address potential confusion to avoid unnecessary support tickets and frustration. If your group updates are taking longer than expected, please know that this is not a system issue but part of normal operations.
