Five years ago, we launched Docebo Community with a single conviction: that the collective wisdom of our members is our greatest power.

We call it The Power of 5
.

To us, it represents more than just our 5th birthday; it stands for the five years we’ve spent turning individual questions into shared solutions, and the way your expertise multiplies when we work together.

As we kick off our month-long celebration, let’s look at the foundation we’ve built in the community over the last 5 years
:

  • More than 11,000 Members: A global network of L&D innovators.
  • 1,825 Days: Of peer-to-peer support, 24/7.
  • Over 90% Peer-to-Peer response rate: From foundational setups to complex challenges.
    • 15,000 Topics Created
    • 54,100 Topic Replies
    • 74,457 Likes Received

The most helpful thing that I learned in the Community is that there was a community.  No longer did I have to sit, stew, ponder, stress, etc. on my own.  There were others that are there that have been where I am, others who have figured out what I’m trying to figure out, others who figured out issues before I knew I would have a similar issue, and who are willing to help and to share.

Learning through the community has given me another resource to help me to become better and to deliver the best experience for our learners.

The most helpful thing I have learned is that this community is a sharing and wicked smart community.  I don’t know of any other community quite like this!

There’s a lot I’ve learned on here, but if I have to pick the most useful thing I’ve learned recently isn’t even specific to Docebo… how to enable live captions in Chrome.  We aren’t able to provide captions on all of our existing content at this time, so that’s one of the asks we hear from many of our clients - they want the option to have captions.  I tried out the trick to turn Live Captions in Chrome and it works great!

The most useful thing I’ve gotten out of this community is the new ideas and perspectives. Last year when we needed to rework our user home pages, I found invaluable CSS code and examples throughout these posts. We’re now able to do a lot more within our 20 widget limit and it looks good.

Honestly, the most helpful thing for me has just been having a space full of people in L&D who get it. Being able to bounce ideas around, ask questions, and see how others are approaching things has been incredibly valuable.

One thing that really stood out was being able to search the community and find posts from others who had run into the same challenges and worked through them. That was especially helpful during a landing page rebrand when I needed guidance with HTML/CSS. Being able to learn from what others had already shared made the whole process feel much more manageable.

How to use the Docebo API, and Postman to build ILTs, and get information into and out of Docebo.

How to use custom CSS to hide elements. How to find the ID for a user. Out of the box solutions. I can’t seem to pick just one!

I think I have learned that the community software platform does not like me very much because of the many, many times @erin.brisson has had approve my blocked posts. 😃

One of the best communities I have interacted with. Love how active the Docebo staff in the community as well.

Oh, and maybe for brownie points (teehee), I learned that @erin.brisson is the most amazing coordinator/hostese of this platform!!!

I have so many Community threads bookmarked that “Docebo Community” has it’s own folder in my browser bar. 🙃

One that I come back to often is this thread on Engaging Home Page Layouts. I love finding inspiration from how others have styled their pages. As many others have said, the willingness of folks to contribute to this community is second-to-none!
