Image Servers Update

Hi,
So this morning we woke up to all our images not loading - it looks like the servers that stored image uploads on our site have changed.
Obviously, this is going to be a huge lift for us to remediate (especially since so many of our courses are built in HTML), and we’ve done so much customization on pages, which have necessitated hard-coding our image sources.
We’re talking to our Support Advisor - but I wanted to check in on a couple things with the community:

1. Are you experiencing the same issue? Did you know this was happening beforehand, aka is there somewhere else specifically that I should be looking/paying attention to? (I check Product Updates religiously every Monday, pay attention to the roadmap, and am subscribed to several conversations in the community - which feels like too much, already, if I’m honest)

2. How are you managing your image/asset storage? Do you use your own server (how are the load times?), do you have a system that works well within Docebo (we’re also worried about duplicates, given uploads are attached to single users)?

3. Overall, we’re (I’m) pretty frustrated by this - it’s the second time since we launched earlier this year that major changes from Docebo’s side have broken our site without warning. How do you all plan for and/or deal with this?

This is happening to us as well. All pages affected and essentially Docebo changed the URL on us for stored image assets. Broken images EVERYWHERE!

Our image urls changed from:

https://cdn5.dcbstatic.com/files/e/c/economical_docebosaas_com/userfiles/14321/Features/dl_lcp_ad_2.png - broken now

https://static-assets.canada-1.enterprise.docebodns.com/files/e/c/economical_docebosaas_com/userfiles/14321/Features/dl_lcp_ad_2.png - works

So this is a HUGE problem since it is affecting both notifications and pages - no images are loading.

My colleague reached out to Docebo support, but they were of no help - saying it’s a problem on our end and that our IT department needs to whitelist the cdn5 server - BS since that won’t resolve the actual url being changed for all images.

We’re still waiting. This needs to be escalated. 

Also, another colleague that uses Docebo says that he isn’t affected - so it’s happening in batches I think.

Same here and its affecting our notifications and mobile dashboards which we heavily rely on CSS and image links :(

UPDATE: So the https://cdn5.dcbstatic.com/files server seems to be working again for us.

 

The images are now coming up whether on the new domain (https://static-assets.canada-1.enterprise.docebodns.com) or the cdn5 domain for us. Docebo probably mirrored these.

Yes! For us too! We’ve also requested re-instatement of our Sandbox servers as well, so hopefully that’ll be coming soon.
I’ll probably be talking to our Support Advisor about what the new (if there is one) rollout plan is for the new hosting, so I’ll update here if/when we find out (and if a site-wide search and replace is a possibility).

I just checked ours and looks like some are working again some aren’t unfortunately. Gonna submit a ticket and see where they’re at.

Interesting that some aren’t working for you. I’ll do some more testing today to see if our notifications and other pages are working correctly with the image assets. If I don’t post an update, everything is working.

Everything is back up and running for us (but I will say it took some back and forth with our Support Advisor):

  • New Sandbox & Production image urls
  • Old Sandbox & Production image urls

I haven’t heard back about a depreciation plan for the old urls yet - but I’ll post when I learn more!

Good news! Everything seems to go back to normal on our end too!
