Observation checklist submit button

As an observer, I have noticed that if you try and submit the checklist before all the fields are filled out you do not receive an error message. It simply doesn’t do anything and doesn’t tell you which question you missed/skipped over. Does anyone else experience this? On the contrary, the observed users completing the acknowledgement for the checklist do indeed receive an error if attempting to submit without filling out the necessary fields. Am I missing something?

Hello, Ciaran here with the Docebo Support Team. Thanks for raising this. You’re not missing anything: an observer can submit an observation checklist only after all required questions have been answered. However, if selecting Submit simply does nothing and does not identify the unanswered question, we understand why that would be confusing.

The acknowledgement or acceptance step is separate, so it may display a different validation message from the observer submission step. I’m not aware of a confirmed release specifically for adding clearer missing-question feedback to observer submissions.

I agree it should be improved and I recommend using the Ideas Portal for submitting a request. We are constantly working on improving the UX for Checklists, so this may be considered by our devs.
