Question

Pulling a zoom link into the google calendar invite

Hi there,

Has anyone created a recipe that will enable us to add the zoom link the google calendar invite directly?

User experience wise it would be great to have a link in the calendar invite instead of having to click the link to the course and access the link via that.

We did, but we had to request a QB report from Docebo to obtain the data Event/Zoom link. The recipe then pulls the information from there. You would need to ask your CSM or Account Manager about this.

@dbhaskar We were able to pull via API the link created by Docebo 24 hours before the event started and then add it to the google calendar.

Also, if needed, you can pull manually the link via Zoom admin portal (Not the best solution as it is manually).

Hello everyone - @oferkenig , I’m keen to hear more about how you were able to achieve this using an API.

@Kyara Denis

This is the API call that needs to be used:
/course/v1/events/{{38.Docebo Event Id}}/join_webtool

The user making this call must be enrolled in the course, and they cannot be the "host" of the meeting

@oferkenig That’s a great solution! Once you pulled the link via API, did you have to manually add it into the google calendar invite or did you manage to automate that? We struggle with this because our google calendar invite is a standard template and everytime there is a change (Eg. New person enrolls into the session,) the recipe overwrites the gcal invite and anything that we add manually gets erased.

Hey @dbhaskar,

My IS team uses Make to automate the integration between Docebo, Zoom, and Google Calendar, so the data is not entered manually. In principle, adding a Zoom link should not remove any existing information such as the description or participant list.

If support would be helpful, my IS team can assist.
Feel free to reach out to me at ofer.kenig@appsflyer.com and I’ll connect you with them.
