I am currently setting up eCommerce integrated with Stripe. In our course catalogue, we have porograms that are subject to sales tax and others which are tax exempt. The Stripe API doccumentations allows for the tax code to be shared, however I am unable to find a way to make this available on the Docebo side.

I’m also curious about this. It seems that you only have the option to configure a single global tax code for all eCommerce content, which is a limitation because tax codes vary by region and product type:

  • ILT vs eLearning
  • Virtual vs In Person
  • Downloadable vs Not Downloadable

Curious how others are managing this.

@IanMonk with StripeTax active for the integration, a regional dropdown is visible to users. We started with this, but removed because of poor UX for our use case, but worked very well from a tax reporting perspective

The limitations that we encountered were:

  1. Could not restrict the list of countries/regions shown to users to those that were setup in our Strip account. Also, could not set a default region.
  2. Company tax code field becomes mandatory

In speaking with Stripe Support, they advised that these were limitations with the @Docebo API as the adjustments we were seeking are possible when programming your own API.
