We are starting to use Learning Plans for some of our product onboarding courses to make it easier to enroll in groups of courses and to recommend the order of the courses.  But we would also like to allow users to enroll in just some of the individual courses as well.  I have the LPs and the courses in catalogs that users will be able to see, so they can find the LPs and the courses and enroll in any of them.

What I really need to be able to do is give the users the ability to click on ENROLL for the Learning Plan as a whole OR to click on ENROLL for individual courses from the Learning Plan overview.

I found where I can set this up as an option if the LP is on sale, but not if the LP is free.  This is highly frustrating - we offer all of these courses and LPs for free.  Why do we get the ENROLL buttons on each of the courses from the LP if we sell the LP but not if we offer them for free?

Has anyone found a good workaround for this?  We have been listing out course links in HTML widgets when we need to list out the courses in a very specific order, but we are trying to get away from that.  We want to give users the option to enroll in the LP or the individual courses without having to go to two different places to do so.

These are the settings on the Learning Plan… when on sale vs Free

:

Settings on the Learning Plan - FOR SALE

Settings on the Learning Plan - FREE

What if you created a course additional field with the Learning Plan name. This way, users can search for courses using the LP name?

@lrnlab  - I will look into that as an option.  Some of these courses will be in multiple learning plans, so I’m not sure how well that will work out.   We may wind up creating channels that mirror the learning plans to allow for easy browsing and enrolling into individual courses.  While that is not ideal, it may be our only viable option that doesn’t require too much manual work/management.

You have up to 50 additional fields so you could create more than 1 for this purpose. I agree it’s not ideal (agree that it would be nice if ti worked like the eCommerce side) but it could work. Maybe try adding the LP’s comma separated where the course is attached to more than 1 LP; that might be a better approach as long as users can search all text and the results are true.
