Hello!

We are deploying a company wide re-certification on April 1st.

Is the best way to deploy this by archiving and re-enrolling Team Members into the certification? I need to make sure that the users certification records aren’t lost (pulled to see archived records), and want to make sure we can notify users, have it show as “not completed”, and re-award the certification once done.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Good question — Docebo gives you two separate tools for this, and it's worth understanding the difference before choosing.

Archive Enrollment (course-level) is a manual admin action that archives the completion record and immediately re-enrolls the user — tracking resets, history is preserved in the Users - Courses custom report, and the enrollment notification fires automatically.

Certifications & Retraining is the long-term automation tool — it handles renewal per user based on their individual expiry date, with history in the Users - Certifications report and proactive expiry reminders. The key limitation: it renews on each user's individual anniversary, not a single company-wide date.

For a synchronized company-wide re-certification (everyone on the same date), Archive Enrollment is the more direct path. If you're running rolling compliance where each user stays current on their own schedule, Certifications & Retraining is worth setting up properly from the start.

I wrote a detailed walkthrough comparing both approaches, including a real case study on exactly this scenario: https://digitalstep.biz/guides/docebo-recertification-archive-vs-certifications
