Is the notification "Learner Has Yet To Complete a Course" retroactive?

hi ​@Madi.Bovee in the use case you describe, it would go out to any and all users who haven't yet completed a course (whether they are just enrolled or in progress). It behave this way because on the day you activate it, it will look to find anyone who is not yet complete and send out the notification.

​@lrnlab thank you for the insight! Do you know if that would include archived enrollments as well?

For context, we're adding four weekly reminder emails to one of our courses. We only want those reminders to go to users who are enrolled going forward, not users who have already been enrolled in the course for some time.

I'm assuming the best workaround would be to duplicate the course and start fresh so existing enrollments wouldn't receive those reminder notifications. Does that sound right? I’m hoping there’s a better solution, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Pretty sure this doesn't apply to archived enrolment records but please test it to be sure. 

Yes you can set-up your notification to a new course only and that should get you the results you need.
