Dear Public Beta participants,
This message officially closes the Public Beta for the redesigned Certifications & Retraining experience, and this Public Beta group will close on October 16, 2026. Thank you for the time and effort you put into it. Every question, use case, and piece of feedback you shared gave us a clearer picture of how you work and what you need from this feature.
What we heard
Several themes came up again and again:
- Renewing a certification with a different course than the one used for the initial certification.
- Creating certifications that aren't tied to a course, such as those awarded after an external exam.
- Making renewal clearer for learners, so they don't click Replay on a course when they need to click Renew.
- Telling legacy and new certifications apart while both exist.
- Reporting, Power User access, and mobile support.
What's coming at GA on October 28
Starting October 28, the redesigned experience becomes a standard platform capability. It will be enabled for all customers, and the option to enable or disable it from Launchpad will be removed. Your existing legacy certifications will keep working as they do today, no existing data will be affected, and both experiences will coexist.
Between now and General Availability (GA), we are extending the new certifications to other areas of the platform:
- A clearer renewal path: Renew Now becomes the primary action when a certification is due for renewal, and learners who click Replay during an active renewal window see a prompt to choose between replaying the course or renewing.
- Mobile support.
- Gamification: badges can be created and assigned when a certification is completed.
- Notifications and Events (audit trail and webhooks).
- Global Search integration.
- Docebo Companion support for the new certifications.
- Report names that make clear which ones show new certification data and which show legacy data.
- A usage guide for the new Certification & Retraining APIs.
Note: October 28, 2026, is the current release date of our quarterly primary release. GA will move if the release date changes.
What comes after GA
We plan to roll out the next phase in three stages:
- Completing the foundation: Immediately following GA, we will extend the new Certification support in My Team, My Transcript, standard custom reports, CSV import flows, and the Courses and Learning Plans widget.
- Building what you asked for: The most requested enhancements from your feedback, such as renewing with different courses and support for external training, are part of our 2027 roadmap. Timelines are not yet final.
- Moving you over: A self-service migration tool for legacy certifications, planned for H2 2027, well ahead of the legacy shutdown, so you have ample time to plan.
Our plan for your feedback
We will bring together all the feedback from the Private and Public Betas, identify the most requested improvements, and use them to shape our 2027 roadmap. We've also updated our FAQs to address the most common questions raised so far: FAQs and What’s Coming at GA.
How to keep in touch
Your feedback is welcome even after the public beta is closed. You can keep posting in the other Community groups, submit feature ideas for the new certification model in the Ideas section, and contact Support if you run into unexpected behavior. We'll keep you updated through the Community and your account teams.
Thank you once again for your participation, your patience, and the quality of your input.
