Hello! We’re looking for support with both LMS administration (day-to-day platform management) and content development in Articulate. While I understand these are typically two separate roles, our current need is for one person who can do both.

Has anyone had success finding talent with this combined skill set? Any advice on sourcing strategies or next steps would be greatly appreciated. I’m currently overwhelmed with LMS work and eager to find support. Thank you!

Hi Trista!

While I’ve never sourced for that role myself, that actually is what I currently do. My former manager that hired me looked for a learning and development specialist that had experience with both administration and content creation. I think the key will be to identify what skillset is the most important of the two, and search for someone with experience in both, but maybe more one than the other. Also happy to connect and share more of my day to day functions if it may help you with a search/refined job description!

I would agree with @estarks8 on this. Most of our team has some skill level in both Articulate and Docebo (or other LMS) experience. Based on your needs, look at the most important and hire for someone with that skill, but let them know that they need to have the capacity or desire to learn the other skill(s) needed. For example, if I needed someone to develop using Articulate Storyline (vs. Rise) that has a higher learning curve if they need to have knowledge of Triggers, Variables, etc. I can teach a person who has Articulate Storyline skills how to load and manage courses in Docebo more easily than I can teach a Docebo administrator to learn about Instructional Design and Articulate Storyline. If I just need someone to add videos into Articulate Rise and not necessarily need them to be an Instructional Designer, I might need them to be an expert with LMS (Docebo or other) that can be an expert in that area, then I can teach them how to do the basic builds in Articulate Rise. Based on following many job sites, I would say there are people out there who have dual skills like this, but hire based on their top skills aligning with your top needs now and into the future. Best of luck to you in hiring a great fit!
