Any way to ask enrollee a question at time of enrollment? (Course Add'l Field Won't Work)
We offer a mix of elearning and ILT courses for our software products. We categorize these courses by software product, so our categories are like this:Application Category A Application Category B Application Subcategory Application Subcategory Application Category Cetc.Setting up categories this way finally helped our users browse/filter quickly to get what courses are available for a given software product. However, for our ILT sessions, where we train learners on how to use software, we deploy and assign to them a cloud-based virtual machine. These machines are deployed from a given server region and to ensure optimal performance we need to know where the enrollee is physically attending from. Currently, we email them individually, which is not ideal. Was expecting/hoping that the Course Additional Field feature would work for this scenario - I could setup a question prompt asking them to let us know their location but alas, no, this won’t work because you can only assign them to a
Subscription Codes - small app that has proved to be very useful
I found a little know app called Subscription Codes (similar to Enrolment links but more powerful). We were searching for a solution for a business requirement to have a password on exams that is unfortunately not a feature in Docebo. For some content, we have strict rules about who can see test questions and answers (or even can set up the content - those admins are required to sign a confidentiality agreement) in order to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the content. In addition, we needed way to prevent users from being able to launch a course containing these exams as they are proctored. We came upon the Subscription Code app (had to ask Docebo to load it for us). This app allows you to completely hide your courses; no need to place the courses in any catalogues (to everyone except the super admins and the person who created the course) until it is ready to be consumed by the user. The app allows us to create unique, one-time use codes that are only valid for a specific
Any way to bulk reassign coach and share assets to a different channel?
We are redesigning our channel structure. Previously, we had a “Customer Videos” channel containing all videos visible to our external branch and had hoped users would filter/search for what they were looking for, but feedback is asking that we make multiple channels and assign those videos across the new channels (e.g., Product A Videos, Product B Videos, etc.).Unfortunately, we have hundreds of videos to reassign. I checked with Support and they said there is no API call to do this, and there doesn’t look like a way to do this via the UI. Before I spend many hours manually moving assets from one channel to another I thought I’d take a shot and ask here. Anyone done this before?
Connect your training with your comms platform
To increase the amount of partecipants in our virtual classroom we moved our training from Microsoft teams to Yammer. This allowed us to increase the number of people in a single session, but also to have everyone still registered as usual. The results have been incredible from a bunch of people to over 100’s view and completion. If you need a step by step let me know
Rolling Out Managers & Teams
Hey everyone! We’re getting ready to make the “Managers and Teams” function available to our internal teams. Data from our HRIS (ADP) is pushed into Docebo each evening and the manager/subordinate relationship is established. Of course I’ll be assigning power user profiles and creating a manager-centric dashboard for this group of individuals.Has anyone else “rolled out” this feature to their internal teams? What types of training/support did you prepare to share with those using this function? Any major pitfalls you’ve experienced? Are there any particular power user permissions we should pay particular attention to? Would love to hear about anyone else’s experience here!
How do you deal with fast-clickers in courses?
Hello,I’m wondering if you have any good solutions to deal with fast-clickers, i.e. users, who just click through the courses to finish them as fast as possible without actually focusing on the content. We’re trying to introduce more difficult tests, more interactive elements, etc. but in the end, we can’t seem to find a real solution that would both help and be user-friendly at the same time. Unfortunately, adding badges for course completion makes it even worse because then the % of fast-clickers increases.Do you have any ways of dealing with that?
Discover, Coach, & Share - Best Practice
As some of you may know, before joining Docebo, I spent more than 10yrs teaching English (in China and here in Italy). As the years and courses went by, I increasingly started to appreciate the value of learner contributions and the impact it had on the course didactics. As I did my onboarding in Docebo and learned about Discover, Coach, & Share (DCS), I realized why the 70/20/10 model was so important to the way we learn - I can even give a million examples of this with my own experiences as a CXM but also language learning while living abroad. The biggest challenge I’ve seen with DCS is getting started. I’ve collected a few resources that I typically share with my clients to review, but would love to get the input from the Community to see if there are more things to consider. Some general questions to consider when planning to launch DCS: Who are our experts? What topics for our channels? Visibility for the channels to which user sets (branches/groups)? What permissions do w
Enrollment labels other than "learner"?
In our ILTs, we have learners (we call them “participants”). We also have discussion leaders, group facilitators, faculty assistants, invited presenters, and faculty. We need to know who is what. Has anyone found a way to denote what kind of learner a person is so that it shows up quickly and easily? None of these designations need enhanced access to the platform - staff does all of the work behind the scenes. I should add that this type of status is course-specific, not user-specific. One user could be a learner in one ILT, a group facilitator in another, and faculty in a third.
Get coupon code before registering for ILT
Long story short, we offer scholarships for our ILTs. In Docebo, that will look like a coupon code that someone needs to have in-hand before they reach the payment gateway.I am open to any and all ideas for how a person may apply for and receive a scholarship/coupon code before they hit the payment gateway in the course registration process. We’re considering a “test” within an e-learning course, or perhaps a prerequisite… Thank you for your ideas and experiences.
Videos uploaded in Rise - do those videos move to the Amazon CDN Docebo uses?
What happens to the videos uploaded in Rise when the SCORM package is uploaded to Docebo? Do we get the the same streaming experience as if we were to upload directly to Docebo?I am asking this question because I want to author in Rise and I want to access the streaming server (without having to purchase another package). In Rise, we can use the URL, embed code, or upload videos to Rise. Since Docebo hides the URL and does not provide an embed code, my other option (as far as I know--which is not far at all) is to upload the videos to Rise. I do not want upload the videos to YouTube, or Vimeo. I want the benefits of the HSL streaming server tied into Docebo. Am I asking for an accurate solution, or is there a better way to execute?
Managing courses and webinars for internal staff and external customers
Dear community,Thanks to Docebo, we have been able to successfully create a learning environment which has been well accepted by our colleagues over the past 2 years. Now the time has come to make our course and webinar knowledge base - or at least part of it - available to our customers as well. This requires, of course, a number of considerations and preparations. We intend to create a specific landing page for our external users, and in particular, we have to make sure that they will have access only to those courses and webinars which the company allows to make public. Well, you might say that this is just a filtering task. I agree. But is it really that simple? Which platform functionalities should you use to manage the visibility of courses and webinars to the specific user groups?Instead of reinventing the wheel (and to avoid to get a square one), I’d prefer to first contact this community because I am sure that some of you have been in a similar situation. So I’d be more than hap
Logging attendance via mobile app
Hi. Looking for inspiration and ideas from the community on this one!We have many field engineers who only have a mobile device. Our Audit team visit different teams and give “Toolbox Talks” on site. Currently they all sign a paper register and the auditor creates a new session in a course and assigns the users and marks attendance. We’d really like to get rid of the paper and get the engineers to go onto the Go Learn app and log their own attendance at the end of the session, but I can’t seem to find a way to mark a session as complete/attended when they complete a test or learning content, and there isn’t the electronic signature option available for ILT sessions. So… Any other suggestions for a creative way to do this, or have I missed something obvious? Thanks!
Showing session times in catalog
I am trying to find a way to show the times the sessions are offered for the courses in the catalog so it’s easier for the users to see when the sessions are offered. I can not figure how to do this easily. Meaning, how can learners look at the catalog and see what courses/sessions are offered on particular days?
Options for accessing advanced level courses
What are some ways that others create gateways to advanced level courses? We’re going through implementation and in our current system we have basic level ILTs and advanced level ILTs. In order to access any advanced level ILT you have to pass an online test. The test is added to each advanced course and is the prerequisite that allows enrollment into the course. The main goal is to have something that serves as a gateway to advanced level courses so users that don’t have the basic knowledge can’t access advanced courses and 1) be lost the entire time, 2) take time from the class asking questions they should already know, etc. We are EXE so we sell our courses and they have to be in a catalog. We’d prefer to not build learning plans for each courseWhat are your thoughts? Thanks in advance!
Onboarding with Multiple Languages
Hi! I am looking for some best practices/tips/tools - We are new to Docebo and prepping to launch this summer. We are building our new hire onboarding into a Learning Plan, but have employees all over the world that will need to view training material we are uploading in different languages. Does anyone have employees across the globe that can share some tips for either onboarding or general use of the LMS?
Best Practices for Transitioning to a New LMS
We all know migrating solutions can be a heavy lift for administrators, but there’s also a lot to think about in terms of helping your learners to transition and adopt the new system! Was curious to hear some best practices on migration, less focused on the technical aspect and more focused on the change management aspect for learners. Here’s a few specific points I’d love to gather thoughts on; What to do before learners come into the new system / How to prepare for learners to come into the new system? Ways to communicate to learners about the new system? (Especially for a customer audience) How to gauge how learners are acclimating to the new environment? Thank you all!
How to engage experts in Discover, Coach & Share channels: Gamification and?
One of the main common challenges that LMS Admins are facing when they're launching their training initiatives through an LMS is to make sure they have engaged learners.Adoption is certainly a hot topic and the most frequently asked question is: "What can I do to see it increasing more and more?". Gamification is definitely the answer. You can find great insights on how to apply Gamification to your use case in this post dated May ‘21, where @Adam Ballhaussen and @SuperShaune shared great heads-up on the topic. But let's add a level of difficulty: what if gamification becomes a crucial element when engaging the experts of one or more channels? If you are one of those Docebo customers who opted for the Discover, Coach & Share module, you are perfectly aware that channels live thanks to experts' knowledge and moderation. That's why it is so important to make sure they are constantly active in sharing their knowledge, approving assets uploads, and keeping Q&As alive.Gamification h

Casual learner engagement using Q&A and Recent Activity widgets
Hi everyone!I’m seeking some ideas regarding our home page widgets. We’re reconfiguring our home page and are featuring the Q&A widget and the Recent Activity widget at the top in order to drive casual engagement and knowledge sharing. We don’t have a lot of formal courses, but many employees share resources and we want to encourage more people to share content and ask questions. However, the questions that appear in the Q&A widget also appear in the Recent Activity widget that’s right beside it, so it it’s redundant. I’d love for the “Recent Activity” to omit the Q&As and only show assets that have been shared, but I don’t think that’s possible. If anyone has ideas for creative workarounds so that we don’t see the same questions in two side-by-side widgets, I would love to hear! Maybe instead of the Recent Activity widget, there’s another way to feature content that others have shared? Maybe there’s a whole other way to drive casual user engagement? Thanks in advance!
