CSS Master Guide – how to target the right .class and #id

I am curious - for those of you who do lots of CSS customization - how do you go about finding out the right  .class  and  #id  to target?Are most people…doing some investigative work with the browser console/inspect features using some sort of master reference guide out there someplace sifting through linked stylesheets contacting Docebo tech support doing Jedi mind tricks using some other cool methodI have currently relied heavily on #1 above for the little I have done so far but would be open to studying a well commented, prettified reference guide… #2

Virtual Coach Deprecation on February 26, 2024

Effective February 26, 2024, we will be sunsetting the Virtual Coach feature within Learn on both the web and mobile platforms and working to provide a more secure and effective solution.  Good news! Everything you could achieve using the Virtual Coach feature is still possible:You can recommend content in the platform using personalized suggestions from the Recommendation Engine, and the Skills Dashboard - and when the Campaign Manager feature is released later this year, you will be able to create ad hoc campaigns to push for content completion, with full control of the content to include. Course expiry not required sometimes

Hello Brains Trust,I have some courses with Certifications attached which tells the user when to re-enrol via the RENEW NOW being displayed.  Some users will not need to redo the course as it may not be part of their current job role requirement (supporting customers), however they may need to complete the course at a later date when their job role changes (take on a new customer to support).  If we manually remove the RENEW NOW for some users will this:Affect the course completion history? When user needs to redo the course, we archive and re-enrol so then this will reset the course certification?thanks peeps.

Global Search

When typing into the global search, options appear correctly, which is great. When I click on the course that I’d like to be taken into, it does not take me to it directly. Instead, it takes me to my selections Learning Plan homepage. From there, I’m left to search through all the options to find what I’m looking for. Is there a reason that when I click on a course from the global search that it doesn’t just take me directly to what I’ve selected?

API Browser Quick Grabs: Bulk Update User’s Enrollment to a CompletionAPI & Webhooks

This guide is the fifth in a new series of new guides brought to you by @Bfarkas. Links to his other API Browser Quick Grabs guides can be found at the end of this article. A common question is how to mark a large amount of users complete within a course with a certain date. While there are methods to do this from the front-end UI, they can be error prone and take a while as you have to select all the correct users. There is an API endpoint that allows you to update enrollments for a bulk group of users: PUT - /learn/v1/enrollments Before we go further, note that this will only work for cases where the user is already enrolled in the course. If they are not found in the course, the endpoint will return an error and not process the completion status. If you are trying to enroll and mark the user complete in the same action, stay tuned as that is coming in another guide soon. Important Note: The API endpoint we will be using requires a PUT call, meaning it will update and change informat

Adding Team members

I am running into a speed bump.. I have external users that need to be notified they have been invited to join a organizations team. I can not seem to find a way to notify a user thru email that they have been invited to join a team. I have looked thru the notifications and help files and can not seem to find one that accomplishes this goal. Am I missing something or is there a potential solution someone might know of? I know the platform has a notification popup upon sign in to complete the organizational connection, but this is just not getting the job done.

CSS to hide Course ID?

I’m trying to remove the Course ID from the Course Details Panel in the New Course Player with no luck. This is the best I could do with very limited CSS skills. Coming soon - duplicating notifications and notification logs!

Is anyone else prematurely jumping up and down about the forthcoming ability to duplicate notifications? Putting course under maintenance while users are taking it

What happens if I put a course under maintenance while a user is taking it? Will it kick out anyone who is taking it, or will it only prevent users from starting it. I’m trying to push an updated SCORM file to the course, but I’m finding it hard to find a time when no one is in the middle of training.

Central Repository - eLearning - Thumbnails

Hi everyone, Have looked everywhere for an answer to this, but have not been successful. We use a play button thumbnail for all our eLearning. However, we need to make adjustments to the play button, but as far as I can tell, we can’t replace an existing thumbnail?  Is the only way to replace it, by deleting the old one, and uploading the new one. Then have to go an replace it on all eLearning content?

Hide "Tutorials" Button and Filters in Insights

Hello,I am currently building a dashboard for my powerusers. On one hand, I don’t need the filters, which are only available in English (and not in the localization tool). Is it possible to completely hide the automatic display of filters or disable filters entirely?Additionally, the "Tutorials" button in the header is also bothering me. I would like to hide it as well. I tried hiding the entire row (which would also be a good solution), but I couldn’t manage to do it with CSS. Does anyone have a solution for this?BR Robert

Power Users accessing certificate templates

Hi all.I’m trying to remember how to give Power Users administrative rights to a certificate template. I know it’s a needlessly complex process, but I thought I knew how to do it. Either I don’t recall at all, or it’s no longer working, or it’s not working on the Sandbox. Because I went to test something on it & I cannot get a PU to see the cert they created at all.I thought that you had to assign the cert to a course they could enroll in. then once they completed the course & received the cert, they could also access it as an administrator & assign it to other courses. But this has failed on me several times in a row.Am I missing something or it just not working altogether?Thanks,Nate

Has anyone gotten this error message when uploading a SCORM package?

This is my first time encountering this error message and I’m not sure what is wrong with my SCORM package. I’ve tried uploading SCORM1.2 and SCORM2004. The file sizes are under 10MB and they were created with storyline. I get this error message: “Whoops, it looks like your file may not be formatted correctly. For more information, refer to our Knowledge Base. If the problem persists, contact the Help Desk.” I’ve verified the file formats to the best of my ability and can’t get past this error. For additional reference, I’ve published and uploaded many other SCORM packages with no issues.  Any suggestions or things I should look for in the SCORM package that may be causing this?

Learning Plan and Course Notifications

Hello, I have notifications set up to notify learners when they have been enrolled on standalone courses as well as Learning Plans (where some standalone courses have been grouped).  My learners are receiving not just the “you have been enrolled on xxx learning plan” but also all the individuals course enrollment notifications from all the courses within the learning plan - so they’re being bombarded with numerous notifications in one hit.  Have I set this up incorrectly (likely, I’m new here)!Ideally, I’d like the learner to receive one Learning Plan notification, rather than the individuals courses.  But I still need the individual course notifications switched one to notify learners who taking any one of the courses as standalone (and not needing to complete the full learning plan).  Any advise would be welcomed.  Thank you

Everytime I am looking at my list of users, I choose the data I want to see and reset it to default view but why does it keep changing? It’s so painful to have to choose the fields everytime I am looking at my user list

It takes so long to start a background job for a report I forget what report I chose!

Hey!Reporting is getting really frustrating. The point of background jobs is to offload the work to the backend so the UI doesn’t get hung up. So why am now I stuck waiting nearly a minute or more in some cases waiting for a modal popup to go away for the report I want to be added to the queue?There’s no indicator of what report ran other than me going to the background job screen once it finally goes away. Even the dialog that says a background job was created doesn't say the name of the report when I tab back after waiting.I have to run several reports in the morning to check progress. Yeah, I could automate, but I have people completing progress all the time (We have people working in all time zones), so it would be out-of-date if I used the one run earlier and I still have to login to the system to get them. It’s still a bit of a faff either way.I wish I could just check all the reports I want and set them to export to CSV.And the background jobs screen doesn’t give me much confide

How to Handle "hybrid" courses

I have a VILT course that includes both training and lab time with the instructor. Once completed, users can take an optional exam. We've recently launched a self-paced version of the training course, paired with a separate lab course that users can complete at their convenience. We cannot combine the two courses because the lab requires setup and has limited availability, so scheduling is necessary.Essentially, after completing the course, users receive a notification to sign up for lab time. Once both the self-paced training and lab courses are finished, they can take the optional exam. We are now trying to determine how to mark the self-paced training and lab courses as equivalent to the VILT course.We don’t think there’s an existing way to do this, but I wanted to explore the possibility here. Could we create a group (user automatically added if they complete the elearning and lab) and use auto rules to automatically enrolls users into a “proxy” course that we could then use to mar

DM notification

HiIs there a notification that would go to a users Direct Manager (who is not enrolled, an Instructor, etc of the course) when the ILT course is completed/evaluated/attended? I have ILT instructors who want the user’s DM to know the course has been completed and provide the DM with further follow up steps to complete F2F with the user.

SCORM Course slow load

I purchased and loaded some new SCORM courses into Docebo. I set it up so they autoplay when the learner clicks on the course. My testers are complaining about the wait time for it to load. Is there some setting or something I should be doing to improve this user experience? Thanks.
