Your question of the day? Duplicating courses

Hello everyone,When you duplicate a course, you get a chance to copy along the enrollments.Has anyone used that feature? As in - does it bring along the completions as well as those that are subscribed and in progress? Or does is it set everyone to subscribed in the new course? Maybe there is an idea in this question somewheres.

Under "is it possible"? A report with certificate links?

When working with certificates, a challenge is to get all certificates into a single place. But for those long timers, is there a stable url pattern that can help us figure out a report that can connect a learner record to a certificate “link”.’

Using Categories for filtering Catalogs

I know there was a previous post a while back about using Categories, but I wanted to open this topic back up for conversation and see if there are any other uses, best practices, things to avoid in your experience with using categories inside of a catalog?I’m interested in using categories to help further filter catalogs then link users to filtered catalogs to better display training that may be useful for them.  Any advice on this?

CSS Hide Menu Item

Morning,Has anyone pulled off hiding menu items effectively via CSS?The use case is that I want my users to be able to walk a navigation experience inside of the system (I know that is such an old fashioned idea, but when it is done well? It can do wonders for granularity).And so I know that by adding pages into menus drive the visibilty of pages for users.BUT I dont want all of those pages showing up in the left hand menu. If I pull them? I land up getting 403 permission errors and my navigation experience breaks.I dont mind if Powerusers have the ability to see them.And Superadmins? Well they are very few of them - I dont mind them seeing that noise either but (tend to) have access to everything.I hope this makes sense.

Where to find great LMS analysts/admins?

We’ll be posting soon for a new LMS Analyst. It was challenging to find strong candidates when we first created this position. I’m hoping this group will have ideas on where to find great candidates--places to post, etc. Any suggestions are welcomed! We don’t have the job description yet but I can ost here when we do. Getting end users to provide HAR files, screen recordings etc.

WE recently had an issue of learners reporting slow page  load times from one area in the US,  We check on Google analytics and this seemed to be confirmed in the data. However when raising a ticket with support we get the frequently used “I would ask you to provide me, few more details as :- A copy of a har file of a user who is experiencing this problem-A screen recording of the issue, while the browser console is open and on the network tab”The issue for me is that our learners are paying customers located all over the world, some of which are not technical and so to ask them to do this is very difficult (language, time zone, skills,) never mind the fact that they are busy people.It would be VERY helpful if there was a simple step by step how to video & document that covered the common browsers (edge, chrome, firefox, etc.) that could be sent to the learners so that they can assist in the fault finding. Screen recording is very difficult for non tech learners, what do they use?

How do you encourage content owners to keep course materials fresh and up-to-date?

Hi all, Curious to hear how you encourage content owners to keep content fresh in your platform.  In our organization, we have about a dozen or so Power Users that own content creation and maintenance for their respective departments. As you can imagine, what ends up happening is that everyone is focused on launching new content, and maintaining existing content for accuracy, relevancy, etc. goes on the back burner. How do you encourage your content owners to prioritize this? This quarter I’m going to host a content review working session and motivating attendees with pizza and a gift card raffle. I’m hoping that the bribe helps  Bonus question - Do you use the Audit trail to keep track of the last updates to a course? I was thinking of pulling a report like this before our working session and then pulling it again to see the progress we made. We don’t use the CLOR as lots of our content is being created by Power Users.

Ideas to support prompt content review yearly

Hi all, One of the common challenges is to ensure the content in the e-learning platform is always up to date. Upload SCORM to ILT course?

Do we need to keep an eye on PU permissions with deployments?

I am noticing that a PowerUser profile that was able to do something before (view user certificates) was not doing it currently.So I went into the system and turned off and on the only custom permission related to the activity for the PowerUser profile. And voila! It started working for that user.The question of the day. Is this normal with change / deployments??? Or it could it have been an order of operations thing? Potentially...but I dont think so….

Docebo test training material question level feedback layer (comment)

So, the KB article on creating tests says that I can use comments for this “...and use the Comments text box to provide feedback for each answer or question. “ See how it says “OR question”?However…..the comment is associated with the answer.  Where’s the part where I can put in a comment for the question? Or do I have to put the same comment in for every answer?

Learning plan selected event notification, all courses

When you select your trigger to be a learning plan event, but choose all courses…….what happens? Does that mean the notification will apply to all learning plans that learner is enrolled in?OrDoes that mean that it will send that notification for each course? That doesn’t seem possible, but I’ve seen stranger.

(Unofficial) Virtual User Group

Want to send out a quick thanks to the small group of users that were able to make our (unofficial) virtual users  group today! What it lacked in quantity was made up by the quality of the conversation, knowledge share, and connections. We will plan on doing another group in Q1 2022, and would love to have others join. How do you work with courses off the shelf? From Docebo Content?

Morning Community,A question - as we work with content off of the shelf - specifically Docebo Content, we are finding that people are having issues connecting the dots with activity after module. I used to head off stuff like that with setting up a getting started page in other LMSs, but for the most part I thought I found the interface to the course player is intuitive for most. And I really dont think it is the problem of the course container itself.Take for example this one campaign we recently ran. My first largeThat was until some of my numbers have come back from an important large initiative that involves a course coming off the shelf. We have received a considerable amount of feedback that the messaging at the end of a Docebo Content course is not helping.This is the one that is causing the problemThat big trophy screams close the window - you are done. Does it violate GDPR privacy regulations to display an instructor’s name on a public course? Do you require an instructor to give permission to list their name? Are you listing instructor names on your public courses?

Notifications with 0 branches selected

Let’s say you have an email notification setup for a specific branch.Down the line you eventually move this branch/sub-branch - the associated email notification then changes to 0 assigned branches. I assume because since it is not in the location that it was created in, the notification module is unable to track the branch any longer.While that in itself is an issue, you would then assume that perhaps it disables itself once it no longer has a branch to target making the event or trigger incomplete. However, not only does it remain active but it will now target all branches. Even though the notification now says 0 branches, it instead will trigger that event for any user/power user that meets the other conditions of the event - regardless of branch location. Huge oversight, would like to see this patched or updated in some way with the new notifications module overhaul.

Drip Drip - Trickle Curriculum - doable?

I had a SME approach me and wanted to think about trickle curriculum with deployments having after an alotted timeframe. After the persons first day at work. After the persons first 30 days at work. After the persons first 90 days at work. Lets keep it simple and say they would be delivered a course at that particular time. Is that all achieved with prerequisites????

Is there a way to prevent users from opening multiple tabs/courses on Docebo?

I have concerns that users may be able to open multiple different tabs and “watch” dozens of courses simultaneously. Not only does this undermine the value of elearning training, it can cause problems with all of the scorm files vying for memory, leading to strange issues, and confusing support cases. Does anyone have any good solutions for this kind of problem? I have at least one verified case of this happening.
