User-Level Course: What to Include in an LMS Introduction Course?

My team and I are starting to build a “How To” course for all new hires. For many of our users, this is their first time using an LMS. We've already drafted sections on how to use the search bar, navigate the side menu, and find onboarding plans. I’d love to hear if anyone has created a similar course—what did you include? 😊

QUESTION:Don't want to see old courses come up for my new users

How do I make it so that when users are looking at courses on the front end they don't see all the old/ past course dates. I know there is the manual button that you can untick "see pervious courses" but how so I make that that the rule. People at my organisation don't seem to "see" the button and I get lots of messages about it. There's no reason for them to see past courses as I just want them to sign up to the new ones. Creative Use of Docebo Library as a Knowledge Base for Technical Training?

Hi Docebo Community, I’m reaching out on behalf of OWL Services. We’re currently exploring ways to build a centralized Knowledge Base (KB) for our technical training content. While we don’t have a traditional KB platform like Confluence or Zendesk, we’re curious if anyone has used Docebo’s Library, Channels, Pages, or other features to mimic a KB experience—particularly for technical or field training content. Our goal: Benchmark any use cases or companies that have leveraged Docebo to create an accessible, searchable, and intuitive space for users to reference technical documentation, job aids, how-tos, etc.—especially for just-in-time learning. We’re also open to hearing about alternative tools or integrations others have used alongside Docebo to meet this need. Appreciate any insights, lessons learned, or examples you’re willing to share! Best practice for multiple survey completions required by same user

Hello! I wanted to see if anyone had a best practice for how to set up a survey that may require multiple completions from the same user. The company is wanting to house as many survey responses in our platform as possible, and one use case we have is “Hiring Manager Survey”, to get feedback from our Hiring Managers on their experience. My initial gut reaction is to send them through Forms, but wanted to throw it out there to see if anyone has come up with a good way to do this in Docebo. Thanks in Advance :)

SSL Certificate Time --> From .PFX to .PEM

Hello Everyone, I thought I might drop a post that could potentially be helpful for someone who experiences the same sort of thing as I do each time I have to renew my SSL certificates. Context Our IT department sends me a single PFX file when it is time to update the certs. Issue Docebo needs to receive three distinct files. The Cert, The Intermediate CA, and the Key Solution I make use of an application called OpenSSL (free/open source). I have a folder with the openssl executable inside. Place your PFX file in the same folder as the executable Open this folder location in your command prompt To get the Key - enter the following openssl pkcs12 -in nameOfFile.pfx -nocerts -out nameYouWant.pem -nodes Enter the password - (note that the screen will not update) Open nameYouwant.pem with notepad Remove all the stuff except -----BEGIN PRIVATE KEY----- All the cryptic stuff in the middle -----END PRIVATE KEY----- Save it out as myKey.pem To get the Cert - enter the following openssl pkcs12

Video and course progress bars out of sync

We are uploading Articulate Storyline xAPI files to use in Docebo. Some of the files have videos embedded. We always set our Articulate timeline to be the same duration as the video itself so that the user can click Next as soon as the video ends. Recently we’ve had users at one organization report that the course progress bar takes A LOT longer than the video so they are stuck on the screen for many minutes after the video ends while they wait for the Next button to become enabled. I have not been able to reproduce this myself, but I was able to witness it happening for an end user. Unfortunately his organization does not allow him to create HAR files so we are a bit stuck as far as troubleshooting. Has anyone else seen this? For a while I thought it must be that they were clicking away from the site once the video started to play and that caused the course progress bar to pause while the video continued to play, but that is not the case.

Groups Are Not Updating Dynamically as of 2/16/25 (Yesterday)

I just noticed that the groups we have setup for automatic enrollments did not update this AM. As a result, none of our new hires from yesterday have received critical new hire training. I checked the attributes of an employee and they should meet the requirements for a group. They weren’t appearing. I did add a period to the description and saved/refreshed it; only then did she appear in the group. Looks like our groups are outdated as of yesterday, Sunday, February 16, 2025. I suspect there is something bigger going on with groups between what DKlinger is experiencing on another thread with group updates and my team.

Courses published as xAPI - Using it? Worth it?

Hello Community, I am curious to see how xAPI is working for those who use it vs SCORM. We are considering exploring it, but I wanted to learn from others experience in this space. Do we need a LRS along with Docebo to make the most use of it? How does the in house reporting compare to SCORM? Thanks!

Docebo Contractor Recommendations

Hello! My company is looking to optimize Docebo, and the amount of work we’d like to complete will require more than just me (as the sole LMS admin). Does anyone have recommendations for reputable contractors to help with Docebo work? Our Docebo implementation was outsourced to a third-party contractor and it did not go well, so we are hesitant to choose just any contracting company. I appreciate any advice and recommendations y’all can share. :)

@abartunek @josefinarod mentioned using PowerBI in another post and thought it might be interesting to port over to a separate post for discussion. So first a basic question. How do you link your data up to PowerBI? Do you export and then attach the data to PowerBI? Do you use the API? Is there an integration app? I’ve been using Google Data Studio for our dashboards which I love and is super easy but obviously, it’s not a live link so I have to manually update the data every month and it’s quite tedious. I’ve also thought about using Tableau but is there a live link? I don’t use the API and am not that technical.

Duplicate Subscription Purchases

Our company offers product training subscriptions to our customers and partners and we are in the process of implementing PayPal to enable self-serve purchasing. We discovered through testing that a user is able to purchase a subscription plan multiple times which puts both us and our customers as risk of losing revenue, increased administrative tasks and an unpleasant experience for both sides. Ideally, when a user purchases a limited time subscription, they should not be able to re-purchase the same item until the initial subscription expires. The system should alert them they are already enrolled in an active subscription and not allow them to proceed with adding it to their cart. Overall, I think subscriptions need a little more love! They are a very useful tool for our company to help our customers get access to the training they need with little friction.

Assigning Assets to Users to Watch

Good Morning All, We have a growing number of managers who would like to use our assets in our library to provide support to employees who may be on a PIP (performance improvement plan). As an example...we have an employee that could benefit from reading four or five articles we have tagged for communication. I’d like to have record that this person read these prior to a coaching session. Ideally, I want to avoid creating a course for one person. I’d be open to creating a playlist that can be assigned and tracked (if that is a possibility). Looking for any guidance on this one!

Weird quick - Groups Enrollment count seems off?

Morning - I did a double take twice...and now I feel like I should ask the crowd for a sanity check: I was working with two manual groups (loaded via CSV) to be loaded into a course (a normal day) One of the groups accidentally had been loaded with an identical listing of people. So I removed all users from it. I mapped another listing via CSV this AM. Let me illustrate it below. 91 for group 1 11 for group 2 My math gets me to 102 users that I will be enrolling (except if they have already mapped themselves to the course). And just keeping things straight - incorrect count of users were put into “OPK-US” (91 of them). When I select the users and go to enroll them: Those look correct….. - I get this back: Either my math is failing or I am about to do something wrong So - if someone can talk me off a ledge - is that happening with your instance?????

Creating a Free Order Learning Plan

We are creating a collection of courses that stack into a credential. We wanted to attach a certificate to completing all the courses in the bundle. I was thinking we would use learning plans, but we don’t want the users to HAVE to take the courses in order, or even take all of them. But if they do take all of them, we’d like them to get a certificate. To be clear and keep it simple, if we have 5 courses that learners can take in any order, how can we put them in docebo to show that they completed a certain certificate if they complete all 5? PS - it says in this attending learning plans article that you can take a learning plan in free or sequential order: https://help.docebo.com/hc/en-us/articles/11414202170898-Attending-learning-plans I just can’t figure out how to do the free order. Help! Thanks!

Communities (not to be mistaken for Community)

My organization is in the process of onboarding Docebo and we’ve added on the Communities product. Has anyone else implemented Communities into their platform? Our use case will be for all internal employees with both companywide and segmented “Spaces” for job role and office location. The build out process has been very easy, but I think I’ve hit the limits of this product already and I don’t see any upgrades mentioned on the Feature Roadmap. The nomenclature makes Communities a very hard topic to search for here in the Community. So, is anyone using Communities? I’d love to hear how others are getting the most out of this Docebo feature.

Content Management Lifecycle

Hello All, I’m interested to know how you all have implemented content management practices with Docebo. Our pain points: -Different functional units want to know what training materials are available in Central Repository, so they don’t recreate content. Central Repository doesn’t have the ability to include custom fields like SME, duration, target audience, creation date, etc. -Older content is not getting vetted and removed in an a systematic way. This is in part to the fact that we have been very loosey goosey in allowing teams to create their own content and they may or may not give any indication of the content creation date, what the expected lifespan of the content is, etc. My leader now believes the best way to tackle managing content in Docebo is to keep a Microsoft List of all the training materials in Docebo so we can add additional context in the List, and we could have other stakeholders review the List to select which training materials they want to use in their courses.

Duplicating training material

This may feel like a silly one coming from a person that has been working on the platform going on 4 years, but that Duplicate training material option….what exactly does it mean when your primary repository is the CLOR??? That doesnt generate a new copy inside of the CLOR - right???? Or is it that it is ready to use the same training materials in the CLOR? It is easy to test - just wondering….as I have the community on one screen in the AM for my first cup o’ joe.

Homepages and Menus - Help!

Hello, Hoping someone can help me with understanding the concepts of the Homepages and Menus. I’m not super technical w Docebo yet, but I have a use case where we would like to display information to our instructors only, and a second use case where we would like specific information on courses and homework et al displayed to members of a Specific Cohort. Would we build separate pages for each, and then ‘assign’ those pages to those user groups via Menus? And where would these pages display? We have currently one menu that displays the following: would these new pages be tabs in this menu? and if so, would only the specific User Groups be able to see them? Thank you!

Attempt detail information not displaying...

Our instructional design team creates our courses via scorm with each course ending with a course conclusion knowledge check. Checked within the knowledge base and confirmed that the reporting should display the missed questions for the learner (https://help.docebo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020080200-Checking-the-course-report) but our more recent courses have not been displaying it. When looking at a learners report, it will just indicate a reference number without showing me the question asked or responses (example below): When it used to consistently display like this: Is this a setting somewhere or perhaps something to do with our scorm package used to create the course in. Either way, it’s making it very difficult to help a learner figure out where they went wrong if I can’t see what is being asked… HELP!

"Chatty LMS Syndrome"? Or Less is More?

I have always been worried about a system that is too chatty. When I came to work for my current org? I found that the one largest learning system instance had a user enrolled notification was essentially set on full blast with all courses triggering notifications (that I eventually helped to shut down). To many it felt horrible, if you enrolled yourself, you got an email. If someone else enrolled you? You got an email. If the course was part of a learning plan?? A person got two or more emails. Working at places 10X the size of where I am currently at makes me know that larger organizations dont stand for it and will even cap system notifications if they seem like they are being spoofed. IMHO - that's not the way to configure things. I truly believe in the mantra that “less is more”. It is more powerful when you deploy targeted notifications to campaigns and onboarding programs. This paired with protecting the function of a manager to have an option to deploy a notification to only th

Why are all labels now showing in Sentence Case?

With the latest updates, we found that all labels have been changed to sentence case...is there a reason for this? Will this be fixed at a later time? @erin.brisson Any thoughts?

When US policy impacts our shop

I just read that….Meta said it was scrapping its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts due to a "shifting legal and policy landscape"….which invariably has an impact in our domains as other big companies get on board with this. I have survived waves of change by staying closer to the compliance and onboarding sides of training and learning. But I believe that we should hold onto our hats for the next few. Waves are going to get choppy and rougher to ride out. Let me know what you think.

Closed caption solution

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone has found an accurate and cost-effective solution for creating closed captions for videos. We’d like to add closed captions to all our English videos to improve accessibility and help non-native speakers understand them. LMS badges- KPI's - what are you measuring with them

Hi All, We are looking at starting to use the LMS badges with gamification and I was wondering if anybody measures the sucess of using the badges? If so, what metrics are you using and is it working? Are you using them for course completion, visibility(if sharing to social media) motivation etc. Thanks!
